Hi Aiona
This is a well done poetic remake of this Bible story which shows Jesus power of evangelism.
Hope it did well in the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy.
Have a good evening,
Joan

This was a very good retelling. It is more open and understandable. When people try to retool the Bible, which has been done hundreds of times., I never thought it was any easier explained. I have read many, many, rewritten and reinterpreted bibles. They rarely make things easier to get. Your retelling, makes it easy to read. Good job. Karen

Ah the Samaritan woman at the well who gladly gave a drink to this mysterious man, who told her of her wayward ways, and by that encounter radically changed a whole community, although sent to the Jews, their rejection would open the way for we gentiles, beautifully written, an excellent poem, blessings Roy

Thank you for your review, Roy. I'm glad you enjoyed it. It's so sad that she died for her beliefs. She became a martyr for Jesus. Sadly, she was thrown into a well.

That's so sad

giving living water. Wonderful story of transformation as Jesus turned water into wine.

Your conversational rendering of this famous story of how Jesus told Mary Magdellene he would give her living water really puts us in the middle of the moment, overhearing the dialogue as it happens. It makes the story come alive. It is a great story of transformation, of letting Jesus turn the water of your spirit into wine. estory

Thank you for your review, estory. You're right. Jesus turns the water of our spirit into something more complex.

Wow! A very powerful poem about our Saviour! I truly enjoyed reading this poem. As a believer I truly believe in what it states in John. I liked how you described everything and gave it a rhyming scheme too! Keep up the great work!

I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for your review. There is a YouTube movie of the Book of John, and this scene in the movie makes me laugh! It's what I was envisioning when I wrote this poem.

You are so welcome and thanks for that head up too!

This is a totaly unexpected offering for the contest, but I can see why you chooose this motive:) living water is the best, and once someone it tastes from it, cannot ever go back to what she knew before. Thank you for sharing and good luck with your writings and the contest.

Comment from Peter Jarvis
This poem is a retelling of the biblical encounter between Jesus and the Samaritan woman at the well. The conversational tone draws the reader closer, catching them up into the authors thoughts, feelings and experiences. The combination of humour, skepticism, and then realisation deepens the character and makes her change satisfying to imagine.
All in all a very interesting and insightful take on spiritual awakening and how true fulfilment should look like.
Best of luck.
