Gypsy,
Another great poem for the Book of Renga. I was in the woods at night only three nights that I spent in bivouac when I was in the Army roughing it. We were more afraid of creepy crawly things than we were of preying animals. About 3 am every morning a pack of wolves (a platoon of male soldiers) could be heard running a few yards away! lol.
I like your colorful graphics and poetry words.
Great entry Gypsy,
Cindy

I loved this little piece you've crafted well, my friend. This is right up my alley, of course. I've been out for a bit; kidney stones ROCKing my world, lol. See what I did there? I had to have a procedure done that kept me away for a little bit. I hope to get back into the swing of it soon.
God bless,
Steve

Truly atmospheric and beautifully worded! Love the Romeo and Juliet use of "ill-starred" which fits perfectly here. A haunting theme and a joy to read. Thanks for sharing, Gypsy. Debbie

Your poem has such wild imagery. For me you capture the wild energy of nocturnal creatures. I love the phrase "beasts run wild neath the full moon" -- it gives a untamed feeling. And the tension in the final line about the "ill-starred prey" builds a sense of looming danger. Great job.

This haiku, The Children of the Night, has the proper formatting and notes the movement of the denizens of darkness which prow and prey on what is there.
