Hi MariVal,
hmmmmm, I believe the thickness in our blood is a clotting agent which may be great for the halting of bleeding out, but may also creates a bit of a dilemma when clots travel to certain parts of the body.

I guess those foes' have been eating a lot of fish, or at very least taking fish oil, as I find my blood runs a tad wild when exposed to the air... hmmmm, or is that just me getting older?

All joking aside. You have created yet another short form of poetry that makes one sit for awhile as one digests the full impact of its meaning.

But in all honesty... and me personally... the water I have gathered and chosen to call family is way thicker in actuality of most family ties.

As always, your composition, construction, impact, and delivery is top notch... a true testament to the dedication to and of your art.

The saying blood is thicker than water actually comes from the meaning of a blood covenant. A covenant you make with a person or group is thicker than the water of the womb.

I belive the family we choose ias as important as blood relations. For example, Helen and you are part of my chosen family, we are kindred spirits, like a brother and a sister.

I'm happy you like this little poem. It's a chapter in the book of renga I created. It's a fun poetic form. It's collaborative, my poem followed previous theme without repeating words. You never know where the poetic river will take you.

There are some times when blood is not thicker than water. We have some families who can't get along together no matter what you do. I was picked on as a child by my brothers and sisters and my mother seem to hate me. So I'm not sure blood is thicker than water. Patricia.

actually "blood is thicker than water" is not the full saying and not what you think it means

the full quote is: "Blood of the covenant is thicker than water of the womb."
the original phrase means that the bonds you choose are more significant than those formed by familial or blood relations
(it's not where you come from, it's where you belong)

anyway, this was a great 2-liner in response to the last chapter

Never a truer statement has been said and as I'm sure you know too there's always one. We can't choose family and most families have their issues with personality clashes and sometimes unfortunately our nearest and dearest can be completely awful.....
