The harsh reality of granite and dead flowers, along with cold weather, give a scene of grief, even despair. We think of the terrible loss of a loved one, whom we always remember.

Wow... seems to have gone dark since my last contribution.... might have pop back in and check out where it is now... :-) A deep feeling addition here, my lady: one cannot help but feel the 'cold' of loss and loneliness... Thanx for sharing! ;) Yvette

grief can be shown in many different ways, and you have described this emotion very sadly yet beautifully, an excellent addition to the renga book, very well written and presented****kahpot

That is very moving - as are the two compelling and well-chosen images! Love does not stop at the grave, and tears continue to flow. Very poignant, and full of impact.

I would have hoped somebody put fresh flowers on her grave site, but I guess that wouldn't have fit will with this poem. There is a lot of subtle emotion in this poem. Thank you for sharing it with us.

It's amazing the visual that your excellent poem conjures into my mind. My dad passed away in September and I happened to go by his grave 4 days later and there were dead flowers strewed everywhere. An impactful short verse, Gypsy.

I'm sorry for your loss. I remember going to the cemetery to put flowers on my mother's grave and dry flowers were sad.

Thank you very much for your excellent review and kind words.

This is a really sad piece and it makes me think of a grave long abandoned, particularly with the image of the dead flowers surrounding it. A well written, descriptive piece, I really enjoyed it.

Your poem is short yet so powerful. It captures grief in such a raw way. The image of dead flowers and a granite grave is very visual. It really brought out the weight of loss. I love how much emotion you packed into just a few words, and it feels like each line carries a world of sorrow. Beautifully written and deeply moving!

This two-line poem, Dried Flowers, has the proper formatting and finds its place within the growing renga which follows the current theme of loss and grief. Important.

You literally found the absolute perfect pictures for this haunting little piece. Grief and sorrow are tough little weeds to eliminate once they are sewn. Thanks for sharing!
