Very clear message about modern issues in our society. Great use of rhyme to keep it that much more interesting. Thanks for the good read. Keep on writing.

Words that strike home, soul-wrenching. Brings back the peace movements of the 70s. John Lennon's "Give Peace a Chance". Sadly a human condition from day one.

My father fought in WW2, never talked about this to my brother and I, sure he saw and did things he never had. He was able to live a long healthy life. Joked about one time bringing whiskey to the Russians as a peace offering.

How true it is every word. It's definitely a very powerful poem, extremely well written too I might add.
" As if punctured by a bristled thorn," super good line, my favorite one of the bunch! However, the poem in its entirety, it's an excellent piece of work reminds us of what we need reminding of for sure and to hopefully take action. Thank you for this awesome submission. I think it's very good. I think you've chosen an apropos picture for sure. I wish you the best of lock and thank you for this submission!

We are our own worst enemy. Your poem of peace is most welcome as we enter a new year. Nice rhyme scheme without sacrificing the message. One of these days maybe the world will wake up. The alternative is mutual destruction and that is not what we're here for.

I like this poem very much,I agree with its anti war message which is delivered via an effective rhyming scheme, actually rhyming journey with gurney is very clever. A well structured and developed poem which builds up to so we can all enjoy a greater peace.Thank you.

Hi Harry,
what a can say positively is... this poem is written from the heart.
The thing about poetry is that it is indeed subjective and openly individual... and I do appreciate the individual!
I do believe you hit the mark with entering my reflective thought patterns with the strength of your message. Well done Harry. A pleasure to read and review you.
With our thoughts we create...
positive actions.
Kind regards,
James.

Feels like we are rolling towards disaster, an unending march towards doom. Or is it a dance? Skirting about like fools.
A million dead in the Ukrainian conflict. Awful.

Yes, Douglas. It does seem like that at times, but I think we can still get it right. I really appreciate your review!

Harry,
This heartfelt poem truly opines about today's broken world. Your words are poignant and your images bring sadness to the reader. I hope people wake up and change our world, before it is too late.
Blessings, and good luck,
Cindy

Hi Harry,
I think we are all yearning for peace from war and other violence that brings death and destructions. We need to find a way to end drive by and mass shootings and bring safer and more peaceful living.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Enjoy the rest of your week.
