Wow this is a real heart wrenching poem! Really puts things into perspective.
What is a joyous season for one can be just another day of hunger/depression/poverty etc for another.
This is excellent and thought out very well and the type of poem I don't doubt must have been difficult emotionally to write. Well done it gripped my emotions.
Best Wishes and I hope that you and yours will have a wonderful Christmas

That really opens up the Joy of Christmas which isn't for so many thousands of people around the world. So many children will have never heard about Christmas, it will be just another day of hunger and pain. Your poem is really a poem to think of all those without. Well done, I'm so glad you made time to come and post this. Merry Christmas to you and your family! :) Sandra xx

About fifteen days from today America will celebrate Christmas. This winter has expressed his loyalty in words written seven times with (The Joy of Christmas) every reader feels the «°oy in events from many places in homes and communities. Need I say more that this poem would create the perfect holiday card

I love how well you portray people doing charity, salvaging their conscience with pennies thrown into a tin, being free "this Christmas time." We do our once-a-year charity uncaring for the needy for the rest of the year, forgetting that hunger and shelter are present not only on Christmas Day but for all of the remaining 364 days.
Let the festivities begin!. It's Christmas time.
The Joy of Christmas.

Hi Shirley,
This shows the Joy of Christmas is always there to be found if you look for it. But sometimes we make it hard for others to feel it because we forget about the needy during this time when they need hope the most.
Hope everything is back to normal and you can stay awhile.
Keep writing and stay healthy.
Wishing you the Joy of Christmas
Joan

I enjoyed this poem a lot as it presented clearly the difference between those who have it all and therefore love Christmas and those who are in desperate straits. Many of the former throw pennies into a tin and feel good about their charity, but there is no love or understanding. I always have mixed emotions about Christmas and what the season has become.
