These feel and sound like strong words of wisdom and perhaps a lesson from one's personal experience. I think this free verse will touch many of the older members on the site, who may have regrets over such things.

Thank you for your excellent review. This poem is indeed one that draws from my personal experience. My wife and I divorced in 2008 after 17 years together and was the one that hoped for reconcillion.
