Thank you for sharing Wayne's story, Rhonda. It touched me deeply in two ways. First, my middle name is Wayne, and your story resonates with me because I'm about your Waynes's age, if not older. Secondly, and more important, my mother died of a massive cerebral hemorrhage on her 51st birthday when I was only 13 years old. Her last words to me were, "I love you" the night before she died. She was my whole world and although she passed away over 60 years ago, I remember it like it was yesterday.

It was heartwarming to hear Wayne survived his stroke and is on the mend. I loved your words about what he saw and felt during his ordeal. Equally heartwarming was the grace and style with which you told his story. I loved the ending sentence,,,it speaks volumes.

Thanks, again for this beautiful writing. Well done.

John

John, you've brought a tear to my eyes, my friend. Several, actually. I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm sure she hated to leave you. I'm glad she was able to tell you she loved you, though.
All the way home from work, I kept praying that I could at least see him long enough to tell him just that. Our pastor died a few months ago. He was alone at work and fell off a ladder. He was also my husband's cousin. I just kept thinking about how his widow was unable to tell him good-bye.
I was so thankful he was still on the ambulance before they loaded him onto the helicopter. I was able to kiss him and tell him I loved him. To be honest, I figured that was the last I would see of him since both my parents died of the same thing. He made it, though.

Thank you for the comments on the style as well. I've tried to make these update more than just that. I know there are so many out there who might can relate.

    Take care,
    Rhonda

Rhonda,

What a great story this is. I am glad Wayne fully recovered from his stroke. Like you said it's a miracle that he survived at all. God has Blessed you two.

Well done

Five stars for your very nicely written piece.
The sixth is for Wayne. It's very possible that he would have 'gone on' and not 'stayed with us' if not for his will to hang on.
Bless you both.

Hi Wayne, I've answered this twice, but I don't think it went through. I'll thank you, again, for the beautiful six for Wayne and the review for me.
I am blessed he chose to stay!!

    Hi Santha. I
I appreciate your comments and encouragement. It is difficult, even in the face of such a blatant miracle, to realize the positive and let go of the fear.
    Take care,

This is a wonderful story. It is such a blessing that Wayne is still with you! Thank you for sharing it. I hope that some first responders read this and know that they're heard. Thank you

I'm so glad to hear Wayne is doing so well, and hope he continues to improve daily. And for you to still be able to keep right on teaching is amazing. You're both obviously survivors! Thanks for sharing.

I know he will be right as rain soon, almost back to the way he was before he had the stroke. He is a determined man, and is married to a determined lady. Between the two of you, he will get through this. I'm glad you wrote this part. It's nice to know those in that condition do hear what is being said to them. Well done, my friend. This was a lovely chapter, a more reasuring one. Love and hugs, Sandra xx

    HI Sandra,
I wrote a response to this several times, and I don't know if any went through. I was using a tablet at the hospital. Wayne had to be readmitted for internal bleeding, something they feared when they started giving him the powerful blood thinners. They got him balanced out and sent home today.
Thanks for the review, dear friend!
    Hugs,

Oh Rhonda, I'm so sad for you both. I'm sure that was a bit of a let down after all the hope you had. It will be a case of one day at a time until he is full on back to good health. He will make it through, my friend, he has so much going for him. YOU for a start. Keep your faith strong, my friend. Love you lots. xxx 🙏🏻🤲🏻🥰xx

You are so sweet, Sandra!!! Thank you! Wayne is home now, and hopefully, that's all, but sometimes survival has its own challenges.

Oh, Rhonda, it has been such a stressful time for all of you. It's amazing how Wayne has recuperated, although I do realise there's a long way still to go. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. A big hug, Ulla xxx

    Hi Ulla,
Thank you so much for the six stars. They are beautiful and comforting. Wayne has been through a lot, and still has some ahead. I've been in the hospital with him this past week as he started having internal bleeding from the strong blood thinners.
I appreciate the review and the stars!!
    Hugs,
    Rhonda

Rhonda, I'm thinking of you and Wayne. So much is happening in your life at this moment. Adjusting medication is a challenge on its own. I so appreciate that. I'm so sorry you have this new challenge to deal with. If you can find the time please keep me updated, it would mean a lot to me. Big hugs. I'm thinking of you both. Ulla xxx

    Hi Ulla,
Thank you for being patient with me on reviews and responses. I took my IPad with me to the hospital to help get caught up, but it kept glitching on this site, eating up all but 2 of my six's. I couldn't review or respond to reviews. We were there for almost a week, so I really got behind.
Wayne got out on Wednesday evening. This time it was because of internal bleeding due to taking the strong blood thinners because of the stroke.
They couldn't find the bleed because they got him rested and stabilized before scoping him. They can't find a bleed unless it's actively bleeding, so they sent him home with three different doctor appointments. I've only been able to go to work a few days over the last month. I don't know if I will return after this semester is over. Right now he's like a small child. He's smart as can be, but is very dependent. He may or may not get over that part.
Thanks for your love and support,
    Rhonda

What an astonishing story! You've shared it beautifully, and I can feel your emotion coming through. This is such a blessing that you have the chance to speak with Wayne and say those things that weren't said with your parents.
Thank you for the update and your willingness to share.
Oh, and I love that photo of him at the bottom!

    Hi Julie,
Thank you so much for taking time to review this post. As some of my reviewers have said, writing about it has helped me to handle some of the emotions surrounding his stroke. It's been scary, but at the same time, a story of victory. He survived something by all odds he shouldn't have. Miracles are miracles.
    Hugs,

Another 6 stars, than you so very much for both of them, Teri!! God has been so good to us. There are still challenges, and I'm on the verge of tears at all times, good and bad. I'm so grateful, but stressed because of the new normal, but I know Who is in charge and that gives me peace beyond understanding.
    Hugs,
    Rhonda
