You are 100% right. The change starts with us. A lot of folks walk around with their hands in their pockets wanting to know why nothing gets better. Zombies are already here:-)

Hi Karen,
I think you've listened to much main stream media. I don't believe he's near the boogie man that he's been accused of being. He may not be someone I'd like to have for dinner, but I loved his policies, and considering he didn't get us into any wars, there was no inflation, there was baby formula for babies during his tenure, and he took out those blood thirsty ISIS bastards in the first months of his administration, I was pleasantly impressed. I think having two assassination attempts may have reigned him in somewhat. Time will tell. We've made it through almost four years of Biden, which in itself is a bit of a miracle, since America's enemies have been emboldened during his presidency. WWIII was never closer than it is right now. People who are crapping their pants, crying and cutting their hair will hopefully find that the world didn't end at the end of four years, and possibly it will be a much safer, wealthier, happier place. Thanks for sharing gal.

I would like to keep you as a friend , so, let us not talk politics. Trump is a felon and is pushing anti-abortion. No one, and I repeat no one gets to tell me what to do with my body. No one has A right to tell me what to do, and I did not give anyone the right to make those decisions for me. Where does anyone get off telling me that they are now making my decisions on health care and reproduction for me? That's like me telling you at the age of 22 that after you fathered two kids you must get a vasectomy. I made this choice for you. Comply! I just makes me so mad. Could you tell? Karen

I think you're wise not to discuss politics, but your post was political and I responded. Of course we have different views, and nothing good would come from continuing down the path of discussing such a controversial subject as abortion. We'll just have to agree to disagree gal.

I'd rather see you be able to improve your financial standing gal. I'm not rich by any means. When I left the farm, I had seven children and got a job working at L. Kane Store making $8.50 an hour. We didn't have a car or any home to live in for about six months and counted on the generosity of the church and a friend who used to live on the farm . We didn't have a car, and used to go out as a family to pick up aluminum cans to sell. One year an outfit in Norway was paying $10.00 for a burlap bag full of spruce cones. I don't think the bags were full sized ones, but it took a lot of cones to fill them. It was actually fun. When we got our own house, the Salvation Army came by that first Christmas and gave all the kids a bunch of gifts. I guess they thought they wouldn't get anything. With seven kids, the living room was filled with presents almost half way across. We had to walk way around to get to the stairs. The bottom line is, God was always faithful. I don't want to be offensive to you, but I believed the scripture in Malachi, in the old testament where God admonished the Jews for not paying their tithes and leaving the poor behind. It's the only place in the bible where God challenges people to test Him. Regarding the tithe, he says to test Him and see if He won't bless them so that the blessing will overflow. Personally, I've always tithed, and I've found that to be true.
You're right about the cold. When Jan and I went to Great Clips this morning, it was 16 degrees. The other day it was foggy, and with the cold air, all the trees are frosted white. It's like looking at a Christmas card.
Yep, this March 24, we will have been married for 53 years. It's a lot of give and take for sure.
I hope you're feeling as good as you can feel. I don't know how you manage to live with that chronic pain. I pray for you nightly in hopes of you getting some relief. OK, I need to go grab some lunch.

Are you asking what the temperature is now? It's supposed to get down to 10 degrees tonight. Not my favorite weather by any means. We heat the house with gas, and it's the nicest, warmest I've been since we moved to Alaska.

I was talking about the time difference. It was 5pm here and you were talking about lunch. I am central standard time. We have been overcast a lot here. Do you get snowed in?

Oh, sorry, I misunderstood. I think we might have at least a two hour time difference. I ate lunch late yesterday. I had been out doing errands, and then came down to the office and worked on the computer, so it was really late before I ate.
No, we haven't been snowed in yet, and I've been here four years. The kids bought me a snow blower when we first got here, and the city does a good job of keeping the roads clean. We keep a well stocked pantry and freezer, and after going thirty nine hours without power during a wind storm in below zero weather, I bought a generator that runs on both gas and propane. We keep bottled water and two five gallon buckets of water (for doing dishes or flushing the toilets) on hand. As much as possible I try to be prepared for whatever is coming my way, but things like an earthquake can take the best laid plans and mess them up.

We will persevere and plod through. Guess what ? I am getting a caption phone for free! Seniors with tinnitus can get a free phone from a grant from the government on disabilities. Installation is free and no monthly bill, it works off your internet. When someone calls your new phone , when they talk , the screen gives you the message. You talk, they respond. Is this great or what? "Clear Caption" is the name. :-)

It is true that any idiot can be President. We keep trying to force this issue. Reagan, Bush, Bush Jr, and double trump. I think whoever's party gets president the other party gets to be vice president. Thanks for the read. Karen

According to most all of the professional brain doctors he has a rapidly detreating cranium, and he can't think straight toward sundown.

We will survive him. I think as a lame duck president he will not be able to change much at all. Especially when everyone gets a taste of what he really wants to do. year two should be a shoe in for Democrats on the scare vote alone. Karen
