As children observe and sit and think about things they see in the world, they often draw unscientific but accurate conclusions. Your well rhymed and metered poem demonstrates your thorough observations.

Humans experience more activities and responsibilities in a day, and require a clock as a gage to let them know when time is running out. Your poem leaves the reader pondering.

This poem is such an enjoyable read - about time through the lens of the animals versus the human perspective - the language is so effective and a great pic to illustrate

Wow. You've demonstrated a mastery of rhyme and meter that is head and shoulders above most.

This concept of time is a chain we humans hang around our necks.
It imprisons us to the incessant need to go faster or slower ~ lest we miss something.

How freeing it must be for animals to rely upon nature to mark their journey from day to night and back to dawn!

You here are talking about the enemy. As a child, more than six decades ago, we had a poultry farm. Chooks and chickens were my parent's livelihoods, and foxes were the feared nighttime raiders. There were many battles between my dad armed with a Neighbour's shotgun and the wily foxes. Dad was about as accurate with the shotgun as I was as a bowler in cricket. Targets were pretty safe in both situations. My memory may be slightly tainted as I tend to base many of my childhood tales on tales told by my truth-distorting father. He also won World War Two for the Allies.

This poem is excellent Pam. It reads wth lovely fluency and rhyme ans I love how you thought about it when you were younger.
Foxes have come around our place at times when our neighbour had chickens and my partner he works an early shift must Sunday mornings and at that time almost every week the fox would lurk around outside to figure out ways to get to them, I was thinking they must have great timing lol! Beautiful poem with and interesting read.
Best Wishes

Lovely rhyming poem. I like your concept. Man follows time and animal follow senses. Thanks for sharing and please take care. Hopefully, a wonderful day awaits you.

HI Pam,
This is a well written poem about time according to animals and according to humans. I like the simplicity of nature's time. Just eat sleep and play.
Time, or lack of it, seems to bring us stress. I am glad that the dogs keep the chickens safe. But I don't want the fox family to starve either.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Have a wonderful rest of the day and week.

This is a very cute and creative story/poem. I do hope you post the other poem you wrote in your younger years. I know they'll be fun to read. I can't wait.

This poem, A Fox's Time, presented with ten AABB-rhymed quatrains, compares in part the illusion of time which to men makes sense, and to the creatures who feed constantly a matter of opportunity.

Foxes are a slide creatures and they do in veg the coops of chickens at night. So the farmers are very careful to lock the chickens up in such a way that the fox cannot get in. I appreciate your poem and your outlook. Patricia.
