Poor Marsha, I can relate, men can be so deceitful. My exhusband and I were in love at the beginning but after 7 years together he decided to mess around with a coworker. We had a good sexual relationship and we never fought. It came like a big surprise.

At least, Barbara was a good friend.

You did a great job telling the story. Well done

Thank you, Gypsy. Sometimes it is really hard to know what a guy might be capable of doing until after you marry them. That has happened to several of my friends and even my children. I appreciate the review.

I continue to find your well written story of a marriage falling apart interesting. I feel so sorry for Marsha. She has more to deal with than one person can hardly stand.

Thank you, Verna. So many marriages fail and it is bad when children are involved. People should heed the warning signs before they commit to a marriage.

This read fine, no error noted, that poor woman, overwhelmed with family problems, and I hope she doesn't find out he never got the vascetomy. Can't wait to hear more.

I love the fact that there is still a room for doubt about Trenton's clandestine activities in the infidelity department, and talking to Barbara, had shed a little light on these things, a very good post Beth, blessings Roy

Thank you, Roy. I'm glad I didn't have a husband like Trenton but a lot of my friends did. It wasn't a happy marriage.

I thought you did a brilliant job with this conversation between Barbara and Marsha. I could feel what Marsha was feeling and how much she doesn't want her thoughts to be true. A well written chapter, Beth, I enjoyed reading it.

"come over an join me?" - make it "and" instead of "an"

I remember hearing about key parties in the 70s - they were a thing for adults bored with their lives and spouses and looking for adventure. I knew someone at school whose parents went to them.

Another good chapter, Beth. This is a good story you have going here.

Since this is actually a fictional version of a true story of my best friend marriage as she related it to me, it did take place in the seventies, so the key parties make sense. I've not heard of them lately.

I wish everyone had such a good friend as a neighbor. We don't have that anymore as neighbors are only strangers who live nearby. But it's good that Marsha didn't divulge about Bruce's advances. Hoping that Marsha gets good counseling both in parenting and legal options.

Thank you, Helen. It is same everyone can have a good friend nearby. Since I've lived in the city, I hardly know my neighbors. I appreciate you reading and commenting on this story.

Out of six stars for now but this is so typical among those of the culture you are writing about. It is obvious none of them know nothing about God are his Word. I have known of these situations, and they always end with disaster. Good one, BETH

Since the people in this story are real, I can tell you both the husband and wife were both raised in church by God fearing parents. Life and alcohol have thrown then out of fellowship. Even Christians get off course sometimes.

Sometimes women assume faithfulness because they believe in their husbands' integrity, but unfortunately, it is often false confidence.
