I'm with you and very sad over the way things turned out. It is unbelievable and I sure those who voted to put the criminal would be dictator in office with suffer as much as the rest of us. I least we have the knowledge that we weren't the ones who did. He was a horrible president before and he will be ever worst this time since his mind has gotten worst and there is no one to stop. He isn't Republican. He has started his own cult and lied to all who joined it. I'm sure they will regret their choice.

I agree with you 100 %
He destroyed the true republican party and my destroy our constitution. We have to fight the good fight peacefully and connect with other like minded Americans. I won't give up.
Thank you very much, 😊

It is such a difficult thing to talk about but hopefully writing about it will be helpful. I have had to avoid talking about it because at the moment I can't even fathom another 4 years of him and possibly longer than that depending on how far Project 2025 gets into the system. Thanks for sharing.

I'm sorry this election has affected you this way. I guess we'll all have to wait and see what happens. I saw a headline, I don't know if it's true or not, but since Trump was elected Hamas has chosen not to continue fighting. We'll see.

A good choice of artwork for your post, Gypsy. I can relate to your first paragraph. I finally let my feelings go toward the end of the day and it helped a lot. I don't understand why we can't elect a female president in our country. A good number of women have tried, and it is all for naught.
I was hoping Kamala would win, but she was at a big disadvantage because she had so little time to prepare and she had to rely on Biden's people. It is still amazing what she did accomplish, and I hope there is a bright future for her. She has a lot going for her, including a good personality and willingness to laugh at herself, but most of all she is smart, and has a lot of experience having been a prosecutor.
I have no idea what is going to happen to our country. This morning I started thinking about Ukraine and Israel, and what is going to happen to those countries. I am glad you ended the piece the way you did. I admire you for sharing this.

Thank you very much, Pam. Thank you for understanding and I agree with you, 3 months was not enough. I was wondering what she will do next. I am sure she needs to rest for a while and I am sure she will find the right job. She is so talented and experienced. I think she is very strong. I cried during the whole speech. It was very emotional, many women in the audience cried too.

You are very welcome, Gypsy, and I also wonder what she will do. I think she does need time. It had to have been emotional and difficult at the same time and probably running on a lot of adrenaline. I don't understand why we can't have a female president either. Hopefully one will break the barrier.

As always, a very expressive and well written poem. I do disagree with some about why Harris lost, but I respect your opinion. Humility very often comes in the aftermath of defeat. This is a thing my grandma would say. People kept asking to give Harris a chance, and she got it. I think we need to listen more as a nation collective.
As a person, I have nothing against Harris. I think she should run again in 2028. Hilary ran twice. Just a thought in a question. What if Trump does do half of those things most Americans consider fair? Are we going to deny it or accept it based on our like or dislike of the man?

Have you watched any of trump's rallies? Read any news? Any of his criminal trials? I understand that living so far away must be hard to understand what a horrible person he is. Anyway, I agree to disagree.
-
I am not living that far away, that I cannot understand. I have heard and have examined things on both sides. The fact that he won, and by all accounts did so fairly, the bigger question is why? This is a time for national reflection. We speak of principles, like honor and justice. Have you scrutinized both parties closely? I think there are many things that that Democrats did not see as morally important that in our less than perfect society, hypocrisy plays a great roll.

I like you, I don't want to get into politics. In Spain we have a saying, with friends don't argue politics or religion.

You're welcome

I really couldn't believe the news when I woke up yesterday morning, I'm from the UK and not American and I'm stunned Trump has been elected again. I really thought Kamala was going to win and it is such a shame she didn't.

I have faith only in God, there certainly no one really I would favour, God has used the most unlikely people to bring about His purposes, at least Trump returned America to diplomatic relations with Israel in his last term, don't weep, just pray, well done, blessings Roy

Despite being Australian, I am with you in everything you expressed. Here in Australia, the majority see Trump as you do - arrogant, power-hungry and a bully who twists truth and has no integrity. I fear for your nation. The only thing I am pleased for is that the Democrats will accept the result and act appropriately as seen in Kamala's speech, and bloodshed and civil war will be avoided.
Well said.

Thank you very much, Wendy. I appreciate your exceptional six stars review. You have a better understanding of our politics than the majority of Americans. I agree with you. I am trying to take a day at a time and not dwell on what he is going to do. It's not only Trump, it's all the toxic and horrible people that will pull the strings. He doesn't make any sense. He can't even put a sentence together. I think he may have some dementia. It's so embarrassing, I know other countries are aware of what is coming.

Wonderful MLK quote that aptly sums up your theme here and the view of many. I may be British but I woke up feeling as sick and depressed as you because this felon doesn't just touch the US, his megalomania touches the whole world, And what power he has now! Just as with Brexit, the British voted (not me) to return to some kind of make-believe Nirvana. It was never going to happen and this total debacle has set the country back decades in a negative way, costing us billions with not one single advantage. In a world like ours we all need each other in unity, not division. By promising to make the US strong, he's abandoning any responsibility for maintaining peace in the rest of the world. That's like building a house on sand. Thank you so much, Gypsy, for sharing this excellent, heartfelt and inspiring post. Debbie

I'm sorry you have problems with your government as we do. I try not to think too much about it, it's depressing. I know Trump doesn't care keeping democracy and alliances in the world. I'm afraid to check the news, he is so toxic and self centered... Biden did a good job with NATO and Ukraine but I know it won't be the same with Trump. He is obsessed with dictators... he probably become one doing away with our constitution. Writing about it helps. So far I had positive feedback. There are a lot of Trump supporters in fanstory.
Thank you very much for your lovely review and understanding.
