Hi Tom,
This is a nicely mixed photo to match the words of love describing the walking couple. It also seems like the seagulls are 'holding hands" by their wings touching.
Good luck in the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Have a great day.

It was kind of you to read this release, and leave a positive comment which are becoming more rare than ever before, but not here on FS where people bite their literary tongues in the majority.

There aren't many, but this is one of those poem and picture combinations that makes me recall happier times, a soft hand in mine, the sand between my toes, and luckily the gull doo missed. Thanks for sharing.

Your nearly as hilarious as someone else who is known, and a romantic to boot.

You old romantic. This truly is lovely. Suggests the old heart is still beating. Seriously Tom, beautifully written. I need another thirty-three letters, you really are pushing the friendship now.

Isn't that a load? Having to post a review having more characters than the piece rendered? It sounds either to be a government conspiracy or a Walmart store policy regarding cashiers and checkout lanes.

Hello Tom,
I love the water in the many forms it takes, rivers, lakes, oceans, bays, they all add such a sense of joy for me. The last time I walked on the beach, I took my shoes off and just about scalded my feet. That was down in Hatteras this past May. Oh well. Thanks for sharing.
Blessings,
Tom

I agree with both premises. The water restores stability to the mind through serenity it gives, and yet the sand can be problematic between scaldings and sand spurs.

Tom, this is beautiful, poem and photo. The whole presentation makes me long for what is expressed.
You start and end the poem with the beach theme: walking on the beach, castles in the sand.
Hopefully the castles/memories are built far enough from the tide to withstand time.
Nicely done!

Lovely picture and nice poem. One of my favorite things to do was holding hands with my dearly beloved. It made me feel warm and safe. Until he got into drugs and became the beast from hell. Love to you and yours. Karen

I never been tempted by drugs. I gave up nicotine in '69, and alcohol in '83, and even then never felt addicted. Maybe a pack every two weeks and a six pack for the weekend. I also liked the taste of bourbon, but alas that has passed like a ship in the night without running lights. Always luv hearing from you. Thanks.

Now this I can understand and give you a standing ovation for! My late husband and I would walk the beaches, hand in hand, and now all I have is the memories. Well done.

Surprised, I think. I use to write all kind of romantical poetry. Then I went mad, and voted for Obama in 2008, I haven't been the same since.
I am glad you liked it. Thanks.

I have done this ~~ and during those times I realized the real treasures in life cannot be purchased...
There is a sweet intimacy here that anyone who has ever felt the warm rays of the sun's love recognizes.
Beautiful!

Aah. You are so sweet, DQ might not let you in fearing the customers wanted the sweetest treat and DQ could not match what you offer.

I enjoyed the sentiment here as joy is derived from just holding hands which is a simple pleasure like building a sandcastle Tom, moving words, love Dolly x x x

Walking the beach and creating memories like castles in the sand for me beautifully captures love. I can almost feel the warmth of the sun and the sound of the waves in your words. It's such a sweet reminder of the simple joys of being together. Keep up the wonderful work!
