Awesome, so you are love? Well, lol, I've been looking for you all my life. I will never be a poet, but, you obviously are. I haven't read you before. I will read you again. I hate that nobody reads a post unless it pays big when the real payday comes from reading a jewel.

Many relationships fail because too many prefer to move on rather than make an effort and "fight" defend their love.
I like these two lines:
I am the seawall that holds back the surf
I am the mountain defending your turf
and the closing stanza.

Hello and good afternoon. You've written a very good FreeVerse that really does a good job of sharing the nuances, reality and the substance of true love. I enjoyed reading it and wish you luck in the contest. Your last stanza rhymes and the rules say "no rhyming" I think it could be altered... how about the last line... and, I stand within the storm... or 'in the storm am I', but that still rhymes. Again, good luck.

This is so spot on. I agree love's neither courageous nor noble, but it is necessary. It gives us balance and abuse. A reason to run an' to stay.
