Wow, you're winning blue ribbons in a flurry. Congratulations on another contest win. And at the risk of being repetitive, I just wish I could get your entries in my inbox. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the read. I hate blind contests. They accomplish the opposite of what we come here for. But sometimes the topic draws me in. I sure did not think this little silly would win. I think the picture reeled them in. :-)

Another fine mess was the other first place win. I love Dodie and Baylyn Where did those names come from by the way? I would guess Louisiana.
-
I like to fish in the bay and my sister's middle name is Lynn. Dodie Rae just popped in my head at work one day. No clue why. I will check out Another fine mess.
-
I guess my peoples names comes from all O have heard, seen, and read through the years. :-)
-
I also hear a lot of cool names from people's loyalty cards at work. This one elderly woman said I could use her name in a book if I wanted. Her name is Roxy Fogle.
-
I love the name Roxy. How about Roxy Romaine and Franklin Fogle. A pair of small town con artists. In the 1950's. I got that picture in my head. When I saw the name. Karen

Ciao!
We all like to win now and then a red ribbon and receive a six-star review.
Reading your poem reminded me of something my mother told me when I was young
She used to say there is nothing wrong in being our first fan because usually people are not so generous to tell us we are awesome.
Congratulations on your well-deserved win.

I still say that is one good looking picture. I am so behind in my reviewing. I thought if anyone would beat me it would be you. I loved that picture I found. You deserved the win as well. Nice to see you again. Karen

LOL!! Such a fun topic and well-stated offering for the contest here! :) Although it free verse, perhaps a bit of a different formatting that appealed more to the poetic ear/eye would help...? And you've chosen the perfect pic for your 'sarcastic' bent! ;) Thanx for sharing and best of luck! ;)

Thank you, I share first place with Bermy. Free verse does not come easy to me. I like the rhythm of rhyming. Perhaps because I was a singer. I can still carry a tune, just not as far, hahaha. Thanks for the read.

Haha! A delight to see and read! I enjoyed the fun and character in this free verse, albeit that I think the young lady author in the visual is being a bit disingenuous calling herself humble:)) A great entry! Good luck! Debbie

The warm smile won me over before I even started reading your poem, so I think you deserve to experience all of the above and much more. To hope others find enjoyment in what you write and to give ample thanks for their much-appreciated thoughts can't be all wrong. I truly enjoyed the poem.
