This was a tiny tidbit. You went from I love the saints, to let's torture and kill people. Quite the leap. How was you visit with your girls? Good I hope. I am tgrying to catch up with my reviewing and you have gone dark. Are you feeling okay? Karen

Wow! You've packed a lot of story and character development into just 75 words. He was a good boy who imagined himself emulating the saints, fell into the wrong crowd, and enjoyed doing things he knew were wrong, until he committed one act so heinous that his conscience finally kicked in. And now, between conscience, embarrassment, guilt and humiliation, he can't face the saints he once wanted to emulate. That character development is amazing, because you never once actually said any of the words I used to describe how he felt about his actions. I told, while you, as the writer, did exactly what you were supposed to--you showed. Excellent job, and that last line, "Saints, forgive me," is so fitting, in bother a literal and metaphoric sense.

I've spent a lifetime wondering why most of the men in my family have four names and they so many have an Anthony stuck in there. LOL.
Thanks for sharing.

What was Saint Anthony patron saint of? Why was he the favored one? I like Saint Francis, I think he was the one with the birds? Jeepers, I can't remember. Being of a Protestant background I can't remember. In Congo the local people pretty much thought all the Muzungu faiths were the same, except Muslims of course.
