Yep, some people are highly allergic to sulfur. I'm not allergic to it, but just the smell is enough to keep me as far away from it as possible. Thanks for sharing.

I hear you went through on your first camping trip. I enjoyed listening to it very much. I wish you the very best with all of your writing. I also enjoyed you telling us your story Patricia.

Oh my goodness! What a horrible experience! I thought it was bad enough that you were almost drowned by those mischievous boys but then to be sick all week! To make things worse, the others had fun while you were bedridden!

Thank you, Helen. I guess along out journey there are meant to be some low spots. This was one of them, but after that week at camp there must have been something I heard that convince me I needed to make a commitment to God. I remember praying all night right after that.

What a horrible experience. I wouldn't have anything with sulfur in it either, if I were you. Thank you for sharing this story with us. I am sure it's not one you'll forget. I always enjoy reading your memoirs.

I understand why the details of that summer remained vivid in your mind. Your experience in the boat, and the reckless boys make your camp experience horrible. Thank you for sharing.

That must've been horrible for you to experience at the time when you fell into the water and really reckless of those guys to do that as well. I can definitely understand why your mother didn't want you to learn to swim. A well written piece, Beth. I enjoyed reading it.

She (bought) in a chamber pot for me to use. *brought* ?
You are such a good writer. The story is easy to follow and intriguing. You poor thing. I had colitis and lost 10 pounds in a week too. It's awful. I'm happy you made it through. Well done.
I never had sulfur water. Sounds horrible.

How terrifying this incident is Beth. I am not a strong swimmer and I have always been a little afraid of the water and never swim in the sea for fear of being taken by the tide. This is trip you will never forget. Another fine chapter in your childhood saga Beth, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

Well done.
...The camp was in the northeastern part of Mississippi and my dad agree to... (agreed)
I'm sure your folks were furious. The boys get in trouble?
I'm glad you survived.
Best wishes.

Not feeling so well myslf lately, I truly felt for you and your affliction. Right now, besides water, I'm drinking lots of juice and sodas. I truly enjoy these stories of the past and hope you continue them.
