That's a sweet conversation with Miranda and Aaron. Even though she's in an uncomfortable situation emotionally, she is able to cheer up and support Aaron who needs some encouragement.
I guess she has a landline phone? I was wondering how she kept on the phone with Mitch while calling Waylon. I wouldn't trust Dougie.

Thank you so much. I'm so happy you are enjoying this. Gretchen

Aaron seems like a good friend to both Waylon and Miranda. It was nice getting a little background about your previous story. How old is Aaron?
Miranda's fears for Waylon with Dougie back in his life seem well-founded. Dougie really does seem like an asshole.
I enjoyed this well-written chapter and getting to know your characters a little better.

Aaron is probably around 30 or 31. Thank you so much for this intuitive review. Gretchen

I never feel anything but respect and admiration for Miranda. She's level-headed and honest, good, loyal true-blue friend, and a fantastic GF. A salt-of-the-earth person in every way. I hope Dougie doesn't run away with Waylon.

Thank you very much. Miranda is like a sibling, she can call her friends morons but no body else better. Lol. I'm having more fun with this version of Miranda than my previous attempt. Appreciate the six and kind words. Gretchen

This is a well-written sketch of what is going on in Miranda's life. Even with Mitch there, she is going to be worried about Waylon. There is no way she can ever trust Dougie again.

She doesn't trust him. But soon she'll have bigger fish to fry. Lol. Gretchen

Hello Gretchen,
I loved this post. I wish I had a six. I like the way you make everything stand out, like I was right there observing. Things like the beer foaming out of the bottle and how it feels sliding down your throat. Facing the shelves on a slow night. It gives a sense of reality. Life isn't made up of all action, flying bullets and hot sex. Most of our lives are kind of mundane, with highs and lows. You've captured that, and brought a good story to life. Well done gal.
Have a blessed day.

No six necessary. I appreciate the kind words. Gretchen

The Dougie types most always have ulterior motives for everything they do, and most don't have anything to do with the wants and needs of someone else, just what suits them at the time. :-) Thanks for sharing.

I feel for Aaron; his father is as useless as Waylon's. I'm glad he has Miranda to tell him the truth about himself. Why isn't Waylon picking up the phone? I'm not sure about this. Well, Mitch has arrived, so Miranda will have him to put a smile back on her face. Another six star review, sorry again about not having any left. I'm suing Tom!!! :)) Warmest hugs, Sandra xxx

I'll be your first witness. I can cry on cue. Lol. Thank you for this. Gretchen

Good writing, Mitch is unusually laid back for a cop. Waylon should have called by now. She is gonna lose it if he does not call soon. I enjoy Miranda, she is what we used to call an Earth Mother. Have a good week. Karen

I hope the car accident Mitch has been investigating has nothing to do with Waylon and Dougie, wh seems to be as irresponsible as ever. That would be horrific. This is an excellent chapter. You are super at these character portrayals. I always enjoy your writing and I'm always looking forward to more.
