Wowie Zowie!! You sure came a long way, Baby!! From the humble station wagon to the fold-out camper, then the streamline variety, the full-sized RV, and finally the Walt Disney World VILLA as the number of extended family grew. It was sad that your mom missed the vacation after her bout with breast cancer, but I'm sure you're right - she wasn't feeling right and didn't want to (a) say so or (b) put herself through so much physical exertion. At least your dad had a wonderful 80th.
This was a very enjoyable vicarious romp through your life and good times. I'm glad I got to read this this morning. xoxoxo

You pulled me into this adventure when I saw the name Rhinelander, Wisconsin! My aunt and uncle owned cabin rentals just outside of town there and we loved going every summer. Your family reminds me a lot of my own back in the day. Lots of love and plenty of fun traveling throughout the U.S in an assortment of vehicles. This was a fun trip. Thanks for taking me along!

Six stars mostly because I enjoyed almost every single one of your adventures (and then some). We camped a lot, but many of the hot spots were with my wife and we were past camping.
The other reason for the six stars is in hopes of you sharing your secret to posting pictures within the body of the text. ????????????????????

People who have children and take family vocations are really blessed. We didn't have a lot of family vacations with our children because we were not able to afford to go places but when we did have vacation time from work, we made in a family time and we did fun things at home. I enjoyed your story very much and I wish you the best in the contest.

I, too, had a family that started with the pop up and a tent and ended with the large motor home. My parents traveled everywhere even after we had families of our own. They put the motorhome on a ship and went to Alaska where they drove back to Illinois. Traveling gives memories not to be forgotten. Well done.

This was interesting and well written, but with all the detail about each type of holiday, I found it a bit long. Also, not being American, I was unfamiliar with many of the places. I would have preferred it to stop at the point where you were ten years old, and then put the rest into a sequence of shorter stories, which people would be delighted to read. However, I admire your excellent memory (probably because you kept the written record of each holiday) and your writing style. Very best wishes for the contest.

My dad out-lived my mom too, after her illness. He lived to 100 yo and I truly relate to feeling blessed. Your writing and photo presentation takes readers along on a trip also.
