I'm sure this is the story of many of our lives. Those two words, If Only, so often crop up in discussions of my past. Those same two words contributed to so many of our mistakes. Conversely, those same two words probably turned us into better and certainly, smarter men. I didn't often make the same mistake twice. Usually, three or four time, I wasn't a quick learner. Another great write Mr. Owens.

Very well illustrated and written poem. We know that we can place our burdens on Christ who is our true strength. Nice one of encouragement and strength.

I like how you write from the heart. I think we all wish we could have done a little differently when we were young - we made some mistakes. But like you say, you realize that now and are going to the Savior in repentance and know he will forgive anything in your past. In doing so, you'll be a better man. I like people who don't think they are perfect, because none of us are.

I think we all have regrets of how we could have trusted the Lord better in our yesterdays. But we know that God's timing was perfect to bring us to Him to affect all our tomorrows. And He alone can erase all our regrets.

The visual is perfect for your words, Roy. Yes, regrets and what-ifs can weight us down. But thankfully God has forgiven all of our past and gives us grace and strength for each day going forward. Good Bible verse. Great message in your poem. Blessings. Carol

Roy,
This is an excellent well crafted poem that speaks directly to the human condition. Free will allows to make choices but also to realize our mistakes and change a new path to follow. Faith is the gift that enables us to see ourselves within allowing us to choose enter the narrow gate after we've entered the wide gate and follow the words of Matthew 11:28-30. You've captured the story of the prodigal son in this spiritual write.
All the best,
Eugene

Yes. Roy, that picture reminds me of Pilgrim's Progress. Many of us struggle with leaving our burdens on the alter with sticky fingers. Think we can carry ours as well as other people burdens all by ourselves. Praise God we don't have to. Esther
