This is a nice entry for the Free Verse Poem competition. Nice use of fall colors for the background and print, great descriptions of the arrival of autumn in all its seasonal glory. Well done!

And the unlucky gather rakes and bags to gather the fallen leaves for disposal. If you are a designated gatherer, it is wise to get in shape during the Summer months so that you will not tire out during the season of raking and gathering.

The second half is hard to read. I love autumn. It is my favorite season. October is my favorite month.. The air is crisp. Perfect weather where I am, East Texas. Sweater time. Karen :-)

Some good word play here, and fine free verse just letting us know it is that time again, and what a splendid curtain call it is.
Wishing you much luck with the Contest Committee. :)

This is wonderful, and I like the symbolism of the dual-colored font. It's such a great time of year, and you captured its high points beautifully here. Best of luck to you in the Free Verse Poetry contest! xoxo

Hi Bill,
I watch this almost every day while walking my trail in Grand Bay. There are so many leaves on the ground right now. It's a sure sign that winter is right around the corner. But I'm glad we experience each season here in New Brunswick.
My favorite line,
"autumn falls upon the world." ... I especially like those two synonyms together, "autumn falls".
Good Luck in the contest, Bill!
Cheers,
Kimbob

Well, it does at least fall on your part of the world. We are enjoying spring when everything is announcing new arrivals. A fine free verse poem -well done, and good wishes for the contest.
