I love this! It makes such a clever point in very few words, and using wonderful metaphors. It's very easy to visualize, and even easier to understand exactly the point you're making. Excellent job!

Wow! Thank you for this. I have really loved belonging to this Japanese Poetry Club, I've learned so much and feel as if it's enabled me to spread my wings a lot where poetry is concerned. I appreciate this really kind review and the extra stars, as well. xoxo

You're welcome. I'm not always the biggest fan of Japanese poetry, but this was so clear, so visual, and so clever.

What a beautiful Gogyohka poem and picture presentation supporting for your club challenge. Your poem is well written expressing good advice for most of life's dramas - Poem exhibits a conservation of words - brief as possible - and is grammatically connected - in my experience, forcing me to zoom in and increase focus on the theme - very challenging sometimes

I love this poem and the sage wisdom lurking inside of it! Delicate beauty has it's place, and that is not in a storm. Just like a person needs to be of strong character to weather life's challenges! Maddy

Ahhh! Thank you for TOTALLY "getting it." I am so appreciative of that - and, of course, the additional star power, as well. xoxox

This lovely and very philosophical verse is apt and oh so wise. I enjoyed it and am glad you shared it with us. The meaning is very appropriate for our modern times and this election we are in the middle of this year. Great job, Rachelle.

This poem sounds so oriental. Confucius says "it is wiser to be a rock." Be strong in your actions and beliefs. Daintiness is fine until life gets tough.
I'm getting all that from your gogyohka. I found it very clever indeed.
My only suggestion is that the formatting needs to be fixed. The whiteness ruins your pretty artwork.

Thank you. I worry, though, that, without it, the blue is too dark for the words. Maybe I'll change the lettering to white. Thank you for your candor; I always appreciate all you tell me. xoxox

This gogyohka poem, Worthy Opponent, has the proper formatting and reminds the readers that the dainty flower lives without abuse, where the rock remains unstirred no matter what occurs.

Hello Rachelle,
this was certainly an interesting poem. There is a lot of wisdom in the words written here. It appears you are expanding your horizons into poetry more, and you seem to have quite a talent for it. Way to go gal, keep up the good work.
Have a blessed day.

I joined Gypsy's Japanese Poetry Club in the summer. She gives us one assignment per week, and I'm enjoying the challenge. Thanks for such an encouraging review.

I liked your poem and the picture. I could just see the outcome if the storm came. The rock would be safe, but the flower probably would be blown away or torn apart. The scriptures tell us to build our house upon the rock, not the sand, so the storm will not blow it away. (paraphrased) Keep writing.

The story of The Three Pigs did the same! It seems so rudimentary, right? But still, reminders are always important! Thanks for this very nice review! xoxo

This is a lovely word picture; I love 'the dainty flower on a delicate stem.'
Your wise words are certainly appropriate for the many people in the path of Helene this weekend. Blessings. Carol

Me, too. We are just now getting some much needed rain, maybe from Helene. Grateful we don't have flooding with it.

Oh so very true here, Red -- you should at least have a strong and 'versatile' stem, hmmm? ;) ;) and, yep! leave it to the Japanese to make the simple meaningful: even their architecture is simple yet strong and versatile... and the emotions it can evoke!! ;) Love this form... my have to give it a try sometime... thanx for sharing, my lady! ;) Yvette
