Author,
A fantastic political statement. I love your cogent "arguments." And your candor is excellent.
I'm hoping for the best in Nov.
Just think of all the world-wide tragedies (many of them due to unbridled global warming) that may not have happened if Al Gore would have become President.
Good luck with this one!

I think your story had to begin with the words "I voted." Aside from that, this was an interesting story. Thank you for sharing this story, and best wishes to you.

I think you saved me there, Jessizero.

What an interesting journey through Beano's voting history. I like how you managed to capture the ebb and flow of political sentiments over the decades. Your writing really makes you think. For me it makes you think about the impact of individual votes. Keep up the great work!

Preaching to the choir. I think the two party system sucks eggs.
I think if you ran twice and didn;t get the job, you should not be allowed to run for the same job again. I think if you have criminal charges, If you are unable to run a business without filing for bankruptcy over and over you are not qualified for any high office. Karen

I liked this entry very much. the best part in my opinion is the final line. When I vote, I don't vote for the person I am voting for to win. I vote for the COUNTRY to win through the person I vote for! I will vote for Kamala Harris in 2024 and pray for our country to heal.

I don't know; Beano's voting record for winners doesn't seem all that great. But then, neither do any of the current candidates. They're both atrocious "choices." It's like the choice between Do I Want Ebola or Would I Prefer to Face a Firing Squad.

Which reminds me of a joke:
Three men were facing a firing squad.
The foreman began, "Ready. Aim. --"
"Earthquake!" yelled one of the prisoners. Everyone scrambled about and the prisoner escaped over the wall.
The remaining prisoners were returned to the position and the firing squad began again.
"Ready. Aim. --"
"Tornado!" yelled one of two prisoners. Everyone scrambled about and that prisoner also escaped over the wall.
The remaining man was stood up and the firing squad prepared again.
"Ready. Aim. --"
"Fire!"

Well, you win some and lose some. It sounds like Beano is a pretty consistent Democrat. Regarding John Kerry, I remember watching him and the words that came out of his mouth trashing the troops that fought in Vietnam. It's disturbing that we've had so many close elections since then, and it looks like we're headed for another this time. Regarding your support for Harris, try to imagine her standing up to some of the world's bad guys, and with no teleprompter around? You do a great job of presenting the elections in your time. My thought is I wasn't exactly sure what your point was. judi

I didn't realize it was a story until I got ready to post. So, I changed it from me to Beano. My point is -- I voted.

That's using the old Beano! Yes, vote, although there are poor choices sometimes. judi

Well, there is no doubt that Beano is a democrat as the story has him voting down the line and mostly find fault on the other side. The entry is well within the rules, and I think it is what the contest was looking for. It should do well in the voting.

Finding fault was not my purpose, though fault bubbles up.
