It is interesting that this chapter is mostly from Thurmon's POV. He is now noticing mistakes truckers make, although some that Clyde hates are really just necessary to drivers. I hope you never publish this. Might give someone the wrong idea. My trucker grandson said that just before he arrived at a truck stop in Kansas, someone had gone through the lot in the middle of the night and ripped open front tires on 31 semis.

You are right. I would not want to publish a 'textbook' for road rage vigilantism. I worried about that when I wrote the story about school shooters.
Thank you for your very kind review.

This was a fascinating part of the story, Wayne. You've showed us the other side of the coin--the truckers' side--and I guess Clyde can't lay all the blame on them, especially the conscientious ones who try to do the right thing and may have considerations that people like Clyde may not be aware of.

That's why what Clyde is doing is so misguided. It's like he is a trucker bigot who paints them all with the same brush. Perhaps he will come to learn this and figure out a different way to avenge the death of his wife than to pick on truckers who had nothing to do with that incident.

You've taught us a lot about trucking and truckers with this story, and made me aware of things I never thought about before in a well-researched, well-written, and clear fashion.

Thank you immensely! And for the six stars!
I hoped this would not be seen simply as road-raging violence.

No. This is a much more engaging and thought-provoking story. Great job so far.

Hooyeh doggies that was but a long read. Glad it was so interesting.

Lots of mystery and suspense.

But, alas, I have missed a chapter? Perhaps more? I shall research this most Ricky Ticky!

Thank you or the review. I've tried very hard to cut the chapters up, into FanStory size posts.

Well, not only do you give me plenty of ideas on how to get a little payback, but I'm learning a lot about trucks and truckers. LOL. Thanks for sharing another fine chapter.

A "ray gun", lol! I think Clyde needs to get in touch with the aliens for that one.

Your sentence that begins, "Just as he was about to eject the CD ..." I think you meant to merge that with the following sentence.

I appreciated having a trucker's viewpoint in this chapter, Wayne. As Trump would say, "There are very good people on both sides."

Clyde is getting worse and Thurman is getting better. Interesting.

Thank you. Exactly right on all points. Thanks again.
I'm hoping to show (as a part of the story) that it's as easy to go wrong as it is to go right (no political statement intended).
The trouble with that Trump quote is that he doesn't even like the good people.

Interesting to now see things from the trucker's viewpoint. This guy is aware and careful, and responsible enough to notice the faults in some truckers' driving. Clyde is losing touch with reality, it would seem, and losing all moral judgment. Interesting story, although I have to mentally picture you all driving on the right, and adjusting the names of the overtaking lanes, so I can visualise what's going on! Lol.

Thank you very much for your great review. (I wish we could 'star' reviews.)
I couldn't think of a way to make it easier for British or Aussie readers - sorry.

That's fine. It does my brain good! Lol.
Yes, I am sure I could name a reviewer or two who never even reads what I write. Nevertheless, everyone would clamour for a five star reviewing rating! Lol.

You loaded this one with such realism, I felt you were driving Thurmon's rig. Obviously, you must have had a lot of experience in this area, or you are just ONE GREAT WRITER!

I see now that you are bringing us into the mind of a trucker, one that is aware of the problems that truckers are causing the four-wheelers. Maybe he will be a good one for Clyde to know personally.

I especially liked "Didn't hear anything but the rig and Willie Nelson." and all the really specific details about the trucking world. You've done your research!

Good writing, a little maudlin towards the end. There are good people and bad people everywhere. I can remember that on vacations as we passed the big trucks we wou7ld make the international sign for them pulling their horn, and giggle ourselves silly when it worked, and we got a loud horn. Magic.

Thank you. We must have a tiny bit of maudlin in order to appease the maudlin police. We pumped our arms as if pulling the air horn cord.

An idea. May be a while in the brewing though. He would have to be a teenager in the Arkansas Ozarks.

He had a rough time you said before he saw the light. The conversion will be interesting.

People ask me all the time for my come to Jesus story, and how my life had been up till then. I had no real family really. My parents and sistter died when i was seven from dysentery. The well went bad.
"Uncle Bob" took me on. He was not my real uncle. I overhead him talking to a friend of his about the free labor he would be getting from me, and how he could use me anyway he wanted cause who would beleive a kid anyway. When they passed out from likker I skedaddled. There's a start. :-)

I heard of someone shooting had cars on I-75 near Chattanooga last week. About six cars were shot. I don't think anyone died but two or three had to go to the hospital. They were shooting from a wooded area and were caught. I didn't realize they had schools for truck drivers, but it makes sense, I would thing you could drive those things without some instructions. Apparently, they don't always follow the rules. I hate driving the area on I-75 out of Atlanta where truck go toward Knoxville or Nashville. The highway is full of Semis.
