I enjoyed reading your words out loud. There is a light rhythm in your poem that is almost dream like. I like your theme of what do the sheep do when they are unable to sleep, who do they count? This is a creative poem that would delight any child and adults as well.

I can well remember trying to sleep and not succeeding, so I actually tried counting sheep, it settles the erratic thinking that keeps one awake, it does work by changing focus, beautifully and quirkily written, I loved it, well done, blessings Roy

This children's poem is so adorable and cute. You have included smooth flowing and well thought out rhymes that would maintain a young child's interest. I could easily envision a picture book with the various animals mentioned. I especially liked the perfect ending sentence. Best wishes in the contest.
