Hi Jesse,
First, I am sorry you were so sick and glad that you are well now.
This is a strong essay on the importance of friendship and love connections in any life. They keep you strong and centered on the right things. I think you are right about why we write.
Keep writing and stay healthy.
Have a great day and week.

Thanks, Joan, for this positive review. Although I am better I am not out of the woods yet. I still have a way to go before I am as good as I once was, but maybe we never will return to where we once were.
That is a part of growing older I have trouble getting used to.
Yes, my friends and caregivers keep me strong.
I write because I want to encourage people to ponder.
I will keep writing and stay as healthy as I can.
Enjoy the day.

Good morning, Jesse!
Goodness!
I haven't been very active on FS lately. Just now, I went to your profile to send you a message, and I found your moving narrative. I had no idea that you experienced pneumonia lately. I have firsthand experience how overwhelmingly frightening and painful that is as does my husband.
How very grateful I am that you have such a wonderful circle of friends/caregivers. Wishing I could have been near to offer friendship and some of my homemade soup as well!
Thank you for sharing, Jesse!
Stay healthy, strong, and positive!
fondly,
diane

It's great to hear from you, Diane! I've missed your boosts of confidence to help me through my ordeal. So you and your husband have gone through this too. A nurse I know says it will take me a long time to heal from pneumonia. I can feel it in my bones and my lungs. I am on air 24/7 and it feels different to be attached to oxygen all the time.
Yes, having a wonderful team of friends/caregivers to support me, is great.
I would love a warm cup of soup to soothe my soul.
I am trying to stay healthy, strong, and positive!
Take care, my friend!

Yes, my husband came down with pneumonia as a child = as an adult = more susceptible! Had a doozy of an experience with it about six years ago. Thought I was going to lose him because he was so stubborn that he didn't think he had to go to the hospital! Whew!
Well, I am sending you - vicariously - a whole kettle of my chicken noodle soup!
But, perhaps my heartfelt hope for continue recovery will have to suffice.
Stay strong, Jesse!
And always: Nose to Toes!
fondly,
diane

Thanks for the kettle of homemade soup! Figuratively or not it still tastes good!
I will cherish your thoughtful ways and will always remember to think strong and stay positive!

This is an interesting write from the perspective you are talking of very personal relationships and interactions with your "team." I commend you for the comments about the supporters who have cared for you. This confirms the words of Donne when he said, "No man is an island." A very good message showing your gratitude and closeness.

I'm glad you liked my message of gratitude towards my caregivers.
We are close and take care of each other. Donne was right, "No man is an island." I like your perspective and hope for the best is my motto.
Thanks for stopping by.

I absolutely agree that friendships are a critical part of a happy and healthy life. It's also important we remember to celebrate friendships in good times, and not just when we are feeling down or in need.
Sorry to hear about your recent bad, and I imagine, quite scary experience. I'm glad you had your friends and carers around to help you make it through. They sound like special people.
A well written story, and one I think is well worthwhile sharing.

I really loved this story and you've definitely touched me. I got a little upset as my partner when to hospital recently for a week he had pneumonia and he wasn't long out and my Dad had to go in for emergency surgery he had a hernia wrapped around his bowel. Anyway I continues to visit both whole they were as they struggled and wanted to be at home. But just after I heard of a 2nd cousin who was I hospital at the time, on her last few weeks of life and I wish I'd know so that I could have popped my head in and been another friendly face, she spend months in hospital. It's so sad for people it must get desperate lonely. I can understand why you felt so grateful. Well done for sharing a beautiful story and best wishes on your recovery.

Well, Nicki, I'm sorry for the grief you must feel for your 2nd cousin and the other family members who are in the hospital. I'm glad my story touched your heart. Yes, I am grateful for so many things especially my caregivers who are also my friends.
Thanks for your good wishes.

This is a very nice positive review presentation. It is so nice to hear that you have found healing because you have friends a lot of people don't understand that that does make healing happen a lot faster.

Where, indeed, would we be without friends to lift us up in times of trouble, and to share happiness when it comes to call? If Covid taught us nothing else, it taught us the importance of connecting and caring for one another. Thanks for sharing this.

I agree, Ginda, in times of trouble we all need friendly caregivers.
Thanks for stopping by and giving me an excellent review.
The pandemic taught us so much and we need to hold onto our friends and caregivers as long as we can.
Enjoy the evening.

Friends are God's gift to us and we need them. My family is out of state so I have to rely on friends when I need help. I am glad you are doing better and have compassionate caregivers.

The compassion goes both ways. We care for each other.
I am healing more each day. My Home Health nurse told me to give myself a break it takes time to heal from pneumonia.
Enjoy the rest of the week.

Sounds like you have a very loving and resourceful team. Good for them, and I'm sure that they appreciate your thankfulness for them.
Yes, having friends certainly does help with the rollercoaster of life. That's a good analogy.
Best wishes to you.

Hi Jesse,
This is a very nice piece and you are spot on with this assessment.
I have worked in the care profession for thirty years (mainly with children / adolescents) and the connections made are invaluable.
Nice

Thanks, G-Man. Your understanding review is invaluable to me. I love that you are compassionate enough to take care of children and adolescents. Your rough exterior hides a kind interior.
My caregivers are friends, because, we care for each other.
Take care,
Jesse
