Karenina,
This is indeed a rare treasure. For it is heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time! And that you felt this for someone else's heartache shows the depth of your empathy and humanity.
I am proud to now be your fan! Neil

Always tragic to have lost someone so dear, but to have truly loved is the prize that so few have endured in their lives. May one day, not too far off in the future may I share a love. A hand to hold, a shoulder to cry upon, ultimately to share my fears of tomorrows, that they may brighten the heavens from above.
I'm smiling with your words that warm my heart. Looking forward to more of your work. Shadrach

What an awesome poem. It flows very nice and tells a story. I think you pin pointed how someone would feel if they lost their love one. You are such a great writer. Keep them coming.

Thank you very much Cecilia. You will find we often support one another in times of sickness, sadness, or celebration...
It's a nice family to belong to and I'm so glad you're with us!

Thank you. I have seen the support from others. How long have you been writing?

I've been writing poetry since the age of eleven. (Yikes, 59 years but don't do the math because I'm ancient)
I've been here on FS since 2007...
I've published two books along the way.
But I was an RN by occupation and remain a writer by choice!
Thanks for asking...

I'm a bit behind in reviewing but this is so beautifully written that I don't even care. It is very consoling and your love of others comes through so well.
'Passing On' in our sleep is the ideal situation. But even better is when we know that one day we have been promised to be reunited with our loved ones in a glorious place.

Beautiful poem for Nomi and Yvonne. I read a few. It's a great idea and I'm sure Nomi appreciates all his friends poems.

A beautiful and heartfelt tribute to Nomi and his bride of 51 years. I'm not sure how people can get through times like these without the faith of heaven waiting for us all to arrive. So thankful that Nomi has the comfort.
Blessings

I'm with you. Without faith I would be devastated. Grief is strong, but the knowledge that God reunites us is the true measure!
Thanks!

Thanks, Ric for stopping by.
None of us can escape death -- but friends can hope to ease our pain as we grieve!
Thanks,

Karenina.
Absolutely beautiful. Your poem is touching and warm and will be well received by our friend, Nomi!
My favorite line, not good-bye, but in due time.
Eternal, you are.
We will meet again.
Shine bright as a star,
my darling, 'til then!
Thank you for sharing,
John

Awesome Poem Karenina! I really enjoyed this even though it is such a tragic and sad ending for his wife! There are many of us who can relate to this poem though. The photo of a dove is excellent as well. Keep up the great work!

This was a beautiful poem describing having a longtime lover pass away next to him in her sleep. It is heartbreaking, of course. You did a great job with this tribute. I will continue to pray for Nomi. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.
