This is a very interesting contest entry. I could feel the emotion of a lost love as I read. The rhyming scheme is very good. I enjoyed reading and good luck with the contest.

    Thank you for your kind words!!! I wrote "Cleanse Me" when I was head over heels for someone who didn't feel the same way at all, and I felt as if I was slowly dying from all of the emotion I was fighting with. I'm so glad to hear the emotion I was feeling shines through- that was my goal- to capture that in my poem.

    Thanks for your compliment on my rhyming scheme too! I honestly mostly write free verse poetry, so it's nice to hear that one of the few exceptions was received positively. I'm so glad you hear you enjoyed my poem.

So nicely done! The way you express the desire for emotional cleansing and relief from inner turmoil is powerful. The idea of washing away pain and seeking help in another's kindness is touching. This was wonderfully crafted and so honest.

Washing away our sorrow is not an easy task and we are often faced with grief that is debilitating. They say time heals but we never really forget, a poignant post, love Dolly x x x

    You are absolutely right. I spent countless hours wishing away my feelings and heartache, and I had no success. My feelings for him consumed me, until it was debilitating.
