Okay, I'm shedding a little bit of a tear here. I very much like the line "and colder blew the winds of night," but "He breathed his warmth into the air" is just perfect. I'll repeat it: I wouldn't say I like the strict structure of poetry but, done well, it is beautiful. Very well done.

Awesome! I think this is about God? Am I correct or wrong? It really doesn't matter because it is so good my teeth began to clatter. I really liked the rhyming and the message of the poem! Keep up the good work Jessica!

I love your use of light and warmth as an extended metaphor for your spirituality. I think it's a common metaphor but you paint a very unique and strong image that you made it your own. I like your alliteration with "s" in the first two lines: it sounds like wind.

I've been in that darkness and thought there was no way to return, but yes, if we can hold onto our faith, He will lead us toward the light. BEautiful poem.

That is a beautiful poem of faith, and if is realistic with the acknowledgment of times when faith falters and the path is dark at times. The rhyme and flow are both excellent. Best wishes for the contest.

James chapter four, verse eight says to draw close to God and he will draw close to you. If you try to maintain a distance between yourself and God asking him for help and guidance will prove to be somewhat difficult. Just a point to consider and remember.

We forget at times, when overwhelming problems cause us to lose our balance, that we are not alone and that His hand is always within reach. We just need to reach out to Him for support. Thank you for the reminder.

This is a beautiful poem of despair and waning faith prior to realizing God is forever present. Your carefully chosen words are filled with honesty, hope, and inspiration. Your artwork depicting hands reaching toward heavenly brightness, intensifies the message of your poem. Best wishes in the contest.

What a beautifully expressed and inspiring verse which I enjoyed reading. It flowed well and tells a story of fear and despair turning to love and hope. All this conveyed using the imagery of winter and darkness to drive home your spiritual and revelatory message. Excellent! Well done and good luck! Debbie
