I wasn't aware that Jan had passed. This is sad news. She was a kind and helpful person in addition to her writing prowess. May her soul rest in peace.
Your thoughtful and well written poem is a fitting tribute, Debi. Thank you for using your talent in this lovely eulogy.

Blessings, Julia

Julia, I am so sorry that you didn't know about Jan's death. It has been hard on many here, as I had become very good friends with her so we text and talked on the phone a lot. I still have voicemails of hers I don't have the heart to throw listen to or get rid of. It is still too soon.

Thanks for your compassionate words for our JannyPan. She would have appreciated it so much. Love, Debi

Beautiful tribute to Jan! It is hard to believe it has been a year. The author's words are engaging, filled with meaning, are sad, and creative. Jan was everything this author describes including the author's notes. The picture is lovely and goes so well with these words. Thank you, Debi, for always bringing out the best of all Fanstorians even when they are no longer here. Hugs, Maria

What a lovely Quatern in memory of Jan. As you say, she was a wonderful supporter of the vets and a much-loved member of FanStory. Your repeated line echoes with such great power throughout your poem. Thanks for posting this tribute.

I remember Jan. As you say she was a help to anyone who needed it. She was always kind and considerate to others. She wrote about the stars and moon and natural settings.
I miss her today as well as every day since she passed away.
Thanks for writing this tribute to her. She will be missed forever.
Jesse

Over time the pain begins to dull, else we would be consumed by it. Even as the pains starts to dim, something always occurs to remind us that we are not over it. Indeed, we may never be fully over it. The blessing is of course, the memories, the pleasant memories that come flooding back in on cue.

I know, as all the deaths that I have had to deal with, the hardest has been when two weeks after my mom died at 58 years old, my daughter's boyfriend left our house and crashed his car and burned to death. The reason it was my hardest was the pain of watching what she went thru and tried to mourn myself but still be the best mom I could. It was truly hard cause he was only 22 yrs old.
Thanks, my dear one for all the kind comments. You are always so sweet, but you know that already my dear BBBB. LOL... Love, Debi

I grieve for and sympathize with you over your pain. My mom was deep into her 80s hen she passed away, so I had her for an extended amount of time. For that I am deeply grateful.

Is it really already a year since Jan passed away? She was far too young to go. I think it was a shock to many of us. Thank you so much, Debi, for writing this poem in her memory. Ulla xcx

I know, Ulla. It is still hard as I still have many voicemails I haven't even listened to that she left as I was horrible at answering my phone.
Thanks for all your kind comments, my dear friend. Love, Debi

This is a lovely poem about dear Jan. She has been gone only a year, but it seems much longer as I grow much older. It is sweet of you to think of Abby. I wonder if there is a way to get an answer to your question?

Laura Jan, You Will Be Missed
by Dawn Munro,
copyright 2023

I can't believe she's gone, it seems
there's little left of dreams and yet
I know she rests in peace because
her faith was always strong...

From loving little creatures to
revering veterans, it's true,
our Jannypan displayed a passion
bright from dusk to dawn...

She wears a golden crown, I'm sure,
for Jan's was soul of caring, pure...
a friend to all, and so demure!
I can't believe she's gone...
~+~
Author's Notes:
Jan was always, always so gentle and encouraging, and so passionate about her country... the homeless... war vets -- ALL her causes. RIP, sweet friend, until we meet again.
~~
I had to post this as my review, Debi -- your poem inspired (another's) tribute also. And by the way, yes! I hope Abby is okay too.

This is a lovely poem commemorating 12 months since Jan's passing. She really did her best to help support others, but for me it was her passion for the veterans that I think of.
Well said Debi.

Cheers
Valda
