This is excellent. The Picture is perfect. Your story is gorgeous, earthy and very loving. I wouldn't change a thing. Back to unpacking for me. I still swear the boxes breed when I am sleep. Karen

Hello Tom,
well, this is a little bit flowery for me, but obviously it appeals to some readers. It's not that I'm not a romantic, it's just that I'm wearing my flannel shirt and jeans while I'm reading this and I can't quite relate. Good luck in the contest buddy.
Have a blessed evening.
Tom

I understand, but you need to know this is a fantasy.

This was a beautiful piece of flash fiction. It was sensual without being graphic or vulgar. It was moving, to say the least. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

If the missus thinks anythinig of my writing it is the romantic overtones in most all that is written. In fact, after this piece she noted... you ought to write a romance novel.

This was really good, Tom. You painted a terrific picture of a virtuous love in white. Loved the imagery and the picture you chose. I'm just wondering what you had in mind with "my cold vermilions." Is there a particular meaning to this phrase that I'm not aware of?

Try restarting your computer. That sometimes solves all such problems.

A little bit of a stretch on the vermilions, but I guess you have poetic license to do that.

I swear I found vermilion to be lips in the thesaurus or dictionary, but now cannot, thus poetic license it must be.

Your flash fiction was indeed romantic. It was the stuff fantasies are made of. From the sateen sheets to the gentle kisses, then carrying your lover to the bed. It covered all of the bases for romance. Wonderful entry for the contest. Gretchen

and to think I did it in seventy-five words which is on par with and when I did it in life. :-O
No wonder I am celibate today.

That could well be in a love sory contest. The image is beautiful, speaking of sweet and innocent love. Your romantic words convey much, and leave the rest to one's imagination. Well done. Best wishes for the contest.

Speaking as a woman (duh, how else would I speak?)-- This is gently sexual, sweetly seductive and chock full of about every wonderful romantic thing I'd want in MY dreams (and to come true!)

What a great entry! You just might have a winner here! (It is in my book)

So--I have to ask...WHICH play did WILL S. write in 1597 that you are referencing?

(I tried to research but alas, there were several!)

It was written 4 to 6 years earlier. Always yours.

I would say this sounds very romantic. Are you dreaming agian? I know you aren't all that innocent that you need rose petals on satin sheets. Besides you say it arrived while you spept. Maybe it will win the flash. Romance is in high demand.

Just the first words came to me, and then I tossed until first light when I got a blank and began to type. Ten minutes later I searched for the picture.

Wow! And what a romantic scene you've created. Tom terrific. Shakespeare would be proud. Now, you must hide the poison, and watch our for the dagger hidden beneath the sheets. Thanks for sharing.

What? Who would be the whirling dervish that would plant such things on a love so true?
    Always with care, yours.
