Oh, so true. The person next to us might be living with all sorts of horrors and we'd never know. It costs nothing to offer somebody a smile and it will brighten their day. Thank you for sharing this wonderful poem with us.

I try to remind myself of that all the time. I am very fortunate that the Lord has blessed me in spite of my infirmities. Like Tom Carroway in "Great Gatsby", it is always wise to remember others may not have had the advantages that we have.

Excellent advice. Just passing a stranger and giving a smile could change something for that person. A smile is easy to give and we can encourage others that way.
