Hi Gypsy,
As always your words are profound, your image choice is well presented and relevant to the chosen topic and the overall presentation is great.
I am in awe of your mastery of this style.

Yiiiikes! Bleak - but true. It's one of those situations I don't fear, but I also don't love thinking about it. When it happens, I'm ready, but until then, I'll just go about life happily. You created the perfect artwork to solidify the words; that's for sure!! xoxox

Jisei poems are a Japanese poetic form about death. Sometimes is the imminent poet's death and other times it can be death in nature, such as sunset, winter, autumn falling leaves, etc ... It's a form we are exploring in the haiku club.
Thank you very much, Rachelle.

Thank you for sharing this club entry with us. Yes, death comes to all of us. That's something that's certain in life. I enjoyed reading the presentation.

Thank you very much, Shelley. Yes, I think Dean would approve. ((*=*)) We were close friends. I learned a lot from him.

Gorgeous artwork you have chosen as it brings out the darkness in the masterful piece. I miss Dean; he was such a great man.

My pleasure, Gypsy.

Another fine poem, Gypsy, and one that tells of endless rebirth, a prospect that I don't like to think about. Who wants to go through these painful life lessons again?

That's right. I don't believe in reincarnation. I believe we don't die, we just change form and become part of 'all'.
Thank you very much for your excellent review and kind words.

But for those who believe, the crossing of those "barren fields" will be instantaneous and we'll awaken to the bright morning of being in God's presence with all our loved ones.

I think your poem expresses the transient reality of life. It measures life by the eventually of death, which we all shall face. I like the fac that it handles this reality with an emotional detachment that is evident of Zen.

OMG, I love this it is right up my alley. I do have some horror poetry but not in haiku or jisei style. I love the flow especially the last line "to wait for a new dawn" for me it encompasses life after death but must endure the material world many times over before reaching the non material thoughts of mind.

Thank you Gypsy for sharing with us something that I definitely could see Dean writing. The pic is very gothic, just as he would've liked it. You have reminded us in your poem that death comes to everyone. Let's be prepared to meet our maker. Thanks for sharing.
