I was away when you posted this chapter on a family reunion.
This was a wonderful chapter, poor Echo has to fight a differend fight with Hades, more a mental one. I'm glad Phillip spoke horse language and told him what to do.
Then we have poor Theo! But, at least he has the promise that he will see his precious horse again, and it gets wings!!
Loved this chapter,my friend. Off to read the next one. :)) Sandra xx

Thank you so much for going back and picking up this chapter, Sandra. I'll have the third one out soon. There will be maybe one or two more before I stamp it done!!
Hugs,
Rhonda

Hello Rhonda,
The interaction with Thanatos is excellent. He even seems like a nice guy,
at least for someone who is the controller of death. Not that I would want to meet him. Of course, he did want the immortal horse in exchange for his help.
Echo is holding out pretty well, with a little encouragement form Rebecca.
I like the irony of Echo and reverberated in "I come to speak to Echo," he cried out in a voice that reverberated across the field.
So we've come to the battle. Well done.
Best wishes.
Robert

Hi Robert! I'm glad you caught the Echo and reverberated reference. Few have.
The next scene will be less watching the physical fight, and be more a battle of the mind and heart.
Thanks for going back to review, my friend. I'm working on the next one.
Take care,
Rhonda

As brilliant as all the other chapters before it...I truly enjoy reading this story. Smiles, Lily

I wonder about this line; I might be reading it wrong....
Rebecca's face and body language betrayed defiance.
??? Should it be:
Rebecca's face and body language displayed defiance.
re: He rode a white stallion, its snowy fur -- horses are usually described as having coats instead of fur...but this might be an unusual breed compatible with the location and theme.

Hi Lily,
Thank you for the six stars!! They are most entirely appreciated!!
Thank you for finding two tweaks that really are helpful.
You're right on both accounts. Your careful eye and caring heart have fixed the two spots.
Hugs,
Rhonda

Traveling for five weeks it's been a struggle trying to read and review all I can. So, after falling way behind, I finally gave up and started from scratch. Thanks for sharing another fine chapter.

Debi, my dear friend, it is an honor to have you stop by to read. I only have a few chapters left before it ends, but I'm glad for your time and for the beautiful six stars. Thank you on so many levels!!
Much love,
Rhonda

Poor Echo ! She doesn't want to have the death of the Concordians on her head. Yet, if what Phillip says is true, Hades would kill them all anyway. I like how Phillip ("lover of horses") is able to speak in the horse language. I also liked that there's a deeper side to Thanatos and perhaps he has more good intentions in mind for Theo.

Hi Helen,
Thank you so much for the review. Your presence in this story means a lot to me. I know you are so busy!
You're right, Hades would kill them anyway. The Concordians have been a thorn in his side for quite some time.
Thanatos is a pretty good guy on the whole, he just was fed up with the messes the gods made of things. He likes who he likes, and fortunately for Theo, Adam and Hermes, he likes them.
Hugs,
Rhonda
Comment from BOO ghost
BOO is reading, reader friendly! He faced Thanatos and held out his hand. The Being, greater than the gods, returned the gesture. Theo was surprised to find his grip firm and his hand warm. How many had shaken the hand of Death and lived? Hum, that's kinda scary! They were a tough and fearsome lot, Echo thought, but would they be enough to fight back the waves of enemy forces that were soon to fall upon them? He brings up an interesting question? This looks well written. "Do you wish to see your people die?" Hades demanded. He held up a long saber that glowed with a black flame. "I know you're here, Echo, my sweet. I can feel you." Whoa, Hades! Jeepers Creepers! Ever see Jason and The Argonauts? Behind Echo, she heard a war cry from Hades and then the sounds of battle as warriors collided with warriors.
BOO needs to tune in for the next episode to see how the war goes!

Good morning, Boo!! I look forward to Boo checking in on the next chapter.
I did see Jason and the Argonauts, several times, lol, and anything else having to do with Mythology, Greek and others.
Thank you for pointing out the parts that stood out to you, as always, that is so very helpful. And, yes, Hades is quite the creeper. In an earlier few chapters, he kidnaps here and gives her the kiss of immortality that Theo was supposed to do when they were ready. Hades hurried the process and is trying to make her his bride when he completes his takeover of Olympia.
Hades isn't finished with his stalking, but then he might find more resistance from her espoused Theo, lol.
Thank you again, my friend,
Rhonda

This is a good perspective of dealing with pain and grieving. This could be a little creepy: "Do you wish to see your people die?" Hades demanded. He held up a long saber that glowed with a black flame. "I know you're here, Echo, my sweet. I can feel you."

Hi Liz, thank you ever so much for the review, my friend. Yes, Hades is creepy. He feels he can have whatever he wants. Echo has friends in high places, lol.

Awwww, Mike. I appreciate your concern. It will all be decided soon. I'm going to work on getting another chapter out soon. It might take 2 chapters, not sure. There will be another to tie it all up, but the whole book should be complete soon.
Thanks, Pal,
Rhonda
Comment from Carol Hillebrenner
Theo has made a heart-breaking choice and given his beloved horse to Death for his assistance. Echo would have made the choice to stop the war by going to Hades, but Philip sent her horse elsewhere. War does make for heartbreaking choices, and both have done or tried to do their part. You do mention that Echo has been in Concordia Valley only a week and that seems like a startling too short time for so much to have happened.

Hi Carol,
Thank you so much for the excellent review, my friend!!
Theo did have a heart-breaking choice, but he was prepared for it to be worse.
Echo has been there a bit longer, but a week without Theo. I'll need to clarify that, thank you for pointing it out!!
I hope you have a beautiful week, my friend,
Hugs,
Rhonda
