I had bipolar, and I had more highs than lows. My youngest had more lows than highs. It can be so debilatating. Medicines weren't any good. I rarely have it now. Maybe I've aged out! Karen

An excellent poem reflecting the battles one has when suffering from bi-polar. Very good rhyming and clearly worth the All Time Best tag. Thanks for sharing. Take care and have a wonderful day.

This type of mental challenge can be like riding a roller coaster and can take a toll on the stamina and physical well-being of a person. I think you did a nice job of presenting this side of the coin. Thanks for sharing.

You did a tremendous job getting us right inside of you and making it easier to understand the temptestuousness of your life. It's simultaneously brave and cogent. Well done.

What an incredible poem! Our minds are supposed to be our sanctuaries and fortresses. I can't imagine the struggle of it being a prison. You really capture the inner turmoil of someone afflicted with this illness, and the isolation it creates from loved ones who want to help but will never understand.

Having family members who suffer the ups and downs of bipolar disorder, I fully understand the deep meaning behind your words. But only from the outside. It is the internal struggles that none of us can fully appreciate unless we have been there. I wish I had six stars to give you for this insightful portrait of the bipolar disorder.

This poem, The Bipolar Mind, presented with nine AABB-rhymed quatrains, gives the readers a sense of the pulling from one emotion to another that creates the misadventures in reasoning and actions.

This is a very insightful poem about bipolar disorder, and shows both highs and lows with great honesty and clarity. Finding the right balance of medication is difficult and ongoing. Thanks for sharing with honesty and clarity, so that others may have more understanding.

Hello, Pam,

Outstanding poem in form and topic. I'm bipolar and can relate of what you said. Maybe is fictional but seems real. Sorry I'm out sixes.

You have penned another rhythmic description of what it is like to experience uncontrolled depression. It is difficult to imagine incoherent manic thought that make life confusing and difficult. I appreciate you helping us understand by putting your words in a creative, poetic rhyme.
