Thanks for your review. There was no support system put into place which was in control by the parents.

This reminds me and shadows so well the theme of my favorite play: "Our Town " by Thornton Wilder. If we could only appreciate how precious this life, this moment is. Thank you for sharing, Loren

This poem and story were so beautiful and sad. The repetition of that last line tugged at my heart. Thank you for sharing this poem and your author's notes, and best wishes to you.

Oh, this is just so sad. But what a brave boy he was. He knew what was happening to him, and he wanted you to be there when he was ready to go. Very poignant. Ulla:)))

Thank you for your reviewk Uila. I was not there at the time of his death. He chose to die when he was completely alone. -Bill

Very touching, yet very sad, too. I read your notes at the bottom and the resonance of your story became much stronger. Forgive me, I'm not a poet by trade and sometimes I miss the meaning, but this stuck with me, especially when I think of your client dying without his parents. So lonely. Well done. It touched my heart. Thanks for sharing it. Good luck in the contest and have a wonderful day.

You are truly a most compassionate person who respects the attributes of humanity. The ability to share such a wonderful talent with the world surely lessens the loneliness that many live by. Thank you for sharing such a heartfelt story. Best wishes!

Even though this piece is about death, your well chosen words present it in a calm, relaxing way as though the soul floats on air, gently taking life to some other peaceful realm. It is as though you lift the spirits of the dying and help them drift into eternal sleep. Beautiful. Best wishes in the contest.

This is so poignantly expressed and the more beautiful because your creativity was shared with the client in your care. We always aspire to live in joy but this can be so fragile when we're overtaken by darkness, whether that be physical or mental. To find that the wider world is slipping away beyond our grasp and we can no longer be the person we once were is heart-breaking. Thank you for sharing this very moving verse. In the end, he was so fortunate to have you by his side in that final period of his life. Well done! Debbie

Such a devastating story. The poor child. This poem hits hard. A life without hope without happiness just impending doom lying ahead and he didn't have the love he desperately needed to help him. This captures that moment in time so well, you've done a great job.
Also sounds like you are an amazing person in your job. Must be very difficult at times. Best wishes and good luck with the contest

It really is hard to imagine what must be going through people's minds, knowing that they will never get better. This is quite a dark piece but it it is really well written and the emotion comes through in your writing really well. Good luck in the contest.
