You've woven some wonderful imagery into your poem
of the stone and sea, and the sun's reflective light.
Your poem captures the rolling constancy of the waves and tides.
But a stone, yet, so much more.

This is a lovely free verse poem. It has such strong imagery and a great presentation. I found myself kind of swaying with the ebb and flow as I read it. Beautifully done!

I thought you did a great job using rhythm to create this sense of waves rolling by. I could feel it in the rhythm of the language and the lengths of the lines. And the images were mysterious and romantic, these glimpses of light on the water, fires dying out, rocks worn smooth by the constant ablutions of the waves. We really get this sense of one person almost wearing down another, or at least wearing her smooth. And yet standing, like a rock, steadfast in the waves. estory

Some can be as harsh and unyielding as an outcrop of stone. Knowing this, it would be ultimately foolish to expect anything different. This can be tolerated as long as you know what you are dealing with and are willing to accept what you cannot change.
