A fine poem for the contest, Lea, with some interesting slant rhymes and a slightly fractured metre that is so much in keeping with the theme. I've never been a great believer in that saying about sticks and stones, for words can hurt one deeply. Good luck with this one in the contest. Keep well.

There is exceptional rhyming in this poem
The meter was pretty good and it flowed well. Most lines started with a soft sound, but some started with a hard sound. That is what caused the meter to not be perfect
I hope this is fiction because I hope you have not been hurt like this. And it does hurt.
You did a good job of expressing these feelings. I hope it helped.

Hi Jim nice to see you here yes book two is well on the way I'm just waiting on green light from a publisher as to whether I can continue but since there's already most of the book there I don't see a problem with continuing it book two called specter will continue shortly. I loved the cadence and pacing of most of this poem, but it has some deep meanings that I feel have two or three or more levels inside the poems words depending on how they are read and that is certainly what most writers strive for. My poor brain doesn't catch on to all, but a read or two through the poem gives more mental suggestions to some additional meanings. Mind provoking and most likely done on purpose, well done!
