This poem is funny. I liked this humourous lament over what could have been. Congratulations on winning the six line poem contest. You earned it.

Very cleverly written. And yes, all hope is now gone, for the opportunity has been lost. I wish you could have had seven lines. Now I'll never know how you would have solved all the problems. lol. I love your wit. Best wishes for your entry.

If I had seven lines instead,
I'd put the rivalry to bed!
But then you'd hate me,
wouldn't you -
with one sad star
rate this review.
(Just kidding, of course, but this was so much fun -- great poem!)

Thank you, Dawn, for giving this a look.

This is a great poem that illustrates the frustration we all have - there is just not enough lines for us to squeeze in all we need to say to get the job done! We have to omit some of our favorite and well loved phrases, because they won't fit into these damned six lines! A good subject choice!

This is very good Bill. Loved that 'the world pines' for that missing 7th line. A fun poem and very cleverly written. Don't wr all have those conversations where we solve the world's problems. Good luck in the contest.
Cheers

We always want more, a bigger wardrobe, a bigger car or house, we are never satisfied as humans and your six lines proves this, an unusual and clever post for the contest, love Dolly x

This is a good unique poem beginning with, If I had. It could have gone
in many directions. I think you found the best way for it to go because
it deals with "today." You also have good rhyme.

Hahaha. This is funny and clever - and what a wonderful rhyme scheme and meter you chose to use to with which to amuse us. Very cute, indeed. I hope it does well for you in the polls. xo

Bada bing! Ya got ya thing!
Comment from A.Z. Schott
This is a cute poem. I like your rhyming and rhythm. Now, I wonder how he would've saved the world had he been given that seventh line.
Thank you for sharing!
