Your poem uses strong and vivid imagery to convey its themes. Phrases like "clumsy naivety crashes the world" and "glowing spectacle of sponge gripped minds" effectively paint a picture of youthful exuberance. Very nicely written. - Terry

Lea, this is very well written.
"Marvell the glowing spectacle of sponge gripped minds." ---Wonderful!
You wrote a beautiful piece keeping the terms of the ABC poem. I wonder, however, if the circle has closed with wisdom's cape in wrap.
Best of luck for the contest.

Very well written contest entry. Youcare right, there is little wisdom to be found in todays youth, its like they have lost thier minds. I long for yesterdays common sense. Best of luck in the contest.

Wisdom, as ancient as mankind. One needs only observe the numerous paintings, the wonderful writings, and or listen to the awesome musical compositions from the masters. Wisdom's opposite ignorance, also as ancient as mankind. Witness the foolishness of Adam and Eve, the plagues caused by abhorrence of hygiene, the unending practice of warfare. The inhuman treatment of those not like us, the majority.

How refreshing and beautiful this is, Lea! I can't remember the last time I read a poem on wisdom. We certainly need to listen and learn of wisdom despite our age. Sending you my best today as always and my very best wishes for the upcoming contest.

This ABC poem, The Wisdom of Old, has a flipped MNOP-formatting and seems to speak positively about the youth absorbing the knowledge of the ages, or the young people accepting the lies of those who didn't fool the generation prior.

Like the image and the wording. Does it comply with the contest rules. Having not really studied ABC poetry I am not sure. It appears to but is not the first line really meant to be the last?
All in all, I liked the poem and image. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day.
Regards
Barry Penfold.

I'm not sure which comes first, the knowledge, or the wisdom that comes with it, I think the dawning of realisation of what a fool I've been and am, the realisation, that I thought that I was right, was only my foolish pride, to humble oneself is the beginning of wisdom, to admit there is a wisdom way beyond self is part of that beginning, beautifully written, Lea, blessings Roy

Hi, Lea
I think this is a circle of life poem showing that as we get older, we get wiser
That's not true of everyone. Some people just get more angry as they grow older because they've always felt that life wasn't fair to them
You wrote it elegantly. I didn't catch it's meaning the first time around. I had to reread it in order to catch that.
I enjoyed reading your poem
Good job. Thank you for sharing.
