I haven't looked at contest results for months. Something made me take a look. I couldn't believe the picture I was seeing. I couldn't believe the poet's name. I couldn't believe the poem. I am a firm believer in the spirit world. It must have been Sam's spirit that made me check this out. Thank you, Wendy.

Just a little tribute from afar for a wonderful dog I was very fond of despite not having met him. His interactions with Sunny were always so beautiful. Sam enriched our lives as well. I am sad, knowing he?s not around any more, and empathise with what you are all going through. I am glad you found this little poem. Thanks so much for reviewing and for the beautiful stars.

Young Paul was over for supper tonight, and we talked about getting a new puppy.

Wendy, it happens too often to just be co-incidental...Our four legged family members bringing more of every human emotion into our everyday lives...An excellent example of this is your terse, but poignant tribute to a friend's dog. Good luck with this in the contest.

Ohhhh, maaaaaaan! It's always the saddest thing to endure when a dog dies. And this one in the picture is such a beauty!! Goldens are the most wonderful breed, aren't they? So gentle and loving and fun? Li'l Swish and I go to a dog park every day, and the Goldens are always so nice to her. They play with her, even though they dwarf her, but they're very gentle. I'm sorry for this sadness for you, Wendy. xoxox

It was a friend?s dog but he meant the world to his owners. I knew him just a little, but he was a magnificent dog with a beautiful temperament. Thanks so much for reviewing. By the way, I now have Covid as well. Struggling to find any benefits - I?m not planning on doing any housework or tidying up! lol.

This 2-10-2, A Full and Happy Life, has the proper formatting and sends off a true and loyal friend to whatever waits for good dogs who are prayed on to forever.

Aww I'm so sorry to hear about your friend's dog's passing and commend you on this lovely tribute to an obviously much loved pet. They ask for so little and give so much back in return. We could all learn a lot from them:) Well done and good luck! Debbie

Nice tribute to the four-legged barker.

Have always believed, and still do, dogs make much better people than most of the two-legged species could ever hope to.

Never easy to lose a good dog.

Syllable count spot on.

Yes, I do agree. They are generous in love and support and never judgemental. This dog belonged to a friend but I?ve been through the same pain.

I am so sorry for your loss! This was a lovely and sad tribute to what must have been a wonderful dog. You also got the syllable count right. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

You have the tears starting over here as well. I am so sorry for your loss. Such a beautiful baby. Having lost several of my own over the years, I know how difficult it is. Thank goodness for the memories they brought us. May those bring you joy.

Thanks so much Marilyn. It was my friend?s dog. But I?ve been through it too and know ( and relive) the pain.

Oh I am so very sorry. I know this deep emptiness and pain. We lost our adorable good Yorkie mix in 2018 and I still can't get another dog. This is a beautiful tribute to your gorgeous sweet doggie.

Comfort to you & yours,

Alex
