This is a great poem, and describes very well the anguish of refugees. I have worked in several conflict areas where refugees and IDPs were part of my everyday life, and this poem sums up the situation very well. The first verse rhyming was a bit shaky, but other than that, well done!

Your poem highlights a massive problem in the world today and one that seems to defy solution. Monorhyme verses are not easy to handle but your rhymes generally work well. Good luck in the contest.

A strong and excellent poem, exposing the sufferings of refugees, their pains and silence of those who should care. Why do men make wars, but to steal, kill and dominate. Thanks foe sharing your inspirations. Well done, dear Barry. Good luck in the contest.

a powerful and moving poem about the impact of war on families and the ever growing armies of refugees fleeing war all over the world and the uncertain future they face.

Absolutely, that is the big question, what to do? There's only so many we can take in an absorb. It's become a foe to the western world. It's tragic. Yes, what to do? Good luck. Ulla:)))

This is such a heartbreaking true depiction of the state of refugees in your rhyming poem. I have often wondered what we can do. It is a sad state of affairs, but the number grows, some because of circumstances and others because of intentional creation of circumstances.
The problem is compounded by some who don't even know (or ignore) the refugee problem: "They look away as if I am a lie."
Your rhyming is good. Best for the contest.

That is the question. What to do about human suffering caused by senseless wars. The human toll is not just about the dead, but also those struggling to live. Thank you for the reminder to be compassionate.

June,
Thanks so much for your review. There is no immediate solution to this issue. Compassion is at least something we can give.

Nicely rhymed poem about refugees. It moves along very well when it is read aloud and your presentation is good. May you have a very pleasant week. Patricia

An excellent entry for the Rhyming Poetry Contest. This is a powerful poem bringing to light the damages of war upon the human race and hateful way humans treat each other these days. It has become a self-centered way of existence for many with a complete lack of empathy for the plight of the less fortunate. Such a sad way to live and one that I pray I will never succumb to. Nicely written. good luck in the contest.
