This was very unique and well written, it kept my attention and I also became very concerned for the two little plants, great idea for the writing prompt.

Sounds like this new home at the clinic is the right place for them. They'll also bring comfort to patients. Well done, a good response to the prompt. Best wishes for your entry.

Thanks so much. I truly do have a love for plants. The clinic also was the recipient of my huge house plants.

Irony, nostalgia and plant life. What a mix. This is well written. Tea, what's up with that gift getting preferred status over ordinary humans? I made a mistake growing aloe vera. It overtook my entire front yard patch. Lovely work. karen

Hi Esther,
I really enjoyed reading of Thorny and Sticky. They grow more like family when years are concerned... and we do look after them as such. And yes, more than a few of us have damaged our children from over-care and love. So I am so happy to read that both Thorny and Sticky have made a full recovery with the scars that got them to day.
All the very best wishes in this contest Esther, I enjoyed the read!
With our thoughts we create...
a prickly connection.
Warm regards,
James.

An excellent entry for the Dying Houseplant writing prompt. Great story. I love the names of your plants and the fact that the story has a happy ending. Good luck in the contest.

I assume the protected pricklies are a bit like our manferns, which one is not supposed to take... Overwatering cactus, eh? It's the opposite of what happens to most house plants. I don't do house plants anymore. They don't like my casual attentions. The ones in the garden are a different matter. Thanks for a view into a completely different environment.

Hi
This looks like a good entry for the contest. Good luck with that!!
Saguaro cacti. When I lived in Southern Arizona, we had a lot of Seguaro Cacti growing around us. I thought it was only native to the Sonoran desert. But it sounds like you're seeing them near Phoenix? Where did you go in the Grand Canyon? I think that's what I'm asking to find out if they're that far north.
Riding the bus in hot weather would probably kill me or make me pass out. If I passed out, the other passengers would kill me because they would have to be longer out there on the hot bus. I don't do well with heat
I thought this was written and for the length of it, there were no mistakes that I detected, which is pretty good
I really enjoyed reading your story
Good job. Thank you for sharing.

Oh yes, one can kill plants with kindness, as we can destroy our children in the.same way as our pet plants, there is a distinct difference between plants in arid regions and others in tropical rain forests, beautifully written, good luck, blessings Roy
