This is so sweet and poignant! A ring is such a wonderful symbol of unity and your tender verse captures all the love that you enjoyed during that 48 year period. And what's more, it's still there forever united with you in the form of those two rings. Well done and good luck! Debbie

If I read this right the guy has gotten old and lost his wife. What should be sad seems happy because her love lives on through the ring. Very nice job. Good luck in the contest.
