That last line makes us cheer for the killer. Ten years is a long time to put up with abuse. It appears Mary started making plans long before this. I hope she gets away with it.

Nothing like the cleansing effect of a good strong river current! Nice plan your protagonist had to get rid of the evidence of her crime. I enjoyed this flash story of retribution against an abuser who had it coming.

Ouch! James really fell to pieces over Marie. I can't find any spags here, and it tells the story of abuse, and the end of it, in as few words as possible.
Good luck in the contest. I didn't realize there was a 75-word contest out there. I'll have to check it out.

That's definitely one way to end an abusive relationship. I am pretty sure there are some better options, but this works great for a contest entry. I enjoyed reading and good luck with the contest.

That would definitely end the abuse. I'm sure it's the dream of many abused and repressed women to end it all in such a final way. I love the way you included the strong river current. I don't know about where you live, but we've had some pretty intense weather in our area of late. Lots of swollen rivers, for sure.
