Appreciating what you can do for her is not the same as appreciating you.I am busier than a one armed paperhanger at a wallpaper convention. I do not have time to review each one in order to catch up. Good theme. Good work. Karen

Hey Jim,
I haven't been reviewing much lately, but I liked this. I think gals with glasses are hot, quite frankly. I hope Brian doesn't get his heart broken, but I guess that's part of being a teen. Well done my friend.
Have a blessed day.

I'm happy you found this again, Tom. I've missed your perceptive comments.
Yeah, he's not going to miss out on the full teen experience.

Being with her, tutoring her, and getting paid to do it. How can this guy lose? I like how you added the sister's words of warning that Sandi might think he's too young for her, or might not want to go out with an underclassman. I guess we'll see,

Yeah, things are looking pretty rosy right now. Could he defy the odds this time? As you say, we'll see.

I could really picture he big grin on Brian's face as he walked away from tutoring Sandi. You described the scene well probably remembering your youthful days, no doubt. Nice chapter Jim.
Cheers

The highlight of his life so far, Brian would probably have said. Yes, I drew on some of my own experiences as a teenager for this chapter. An exciting but potentially painful time too.

Another great chapter, Jim. You have characterised an adolescent crush superbly. I have a feeling Brian will get along fine with Sandi, acknowledging her strengths and building from her weaknesses, unless someone else turns up to rock the boat.

Thanks very much, Tony. What a difficult time of life with its ups and downs and powerful forces at work. We'll see in the next chapter which way it goes--for now.

The algebra lessons went well as he does describe how to do it in a way that it is easier for her. The fact that she saw him as he hoped to be seen also helps. Maybe they can date.

Yeah, maybe. There's always hope. Such an uncertain time of life.

So far, this is going quite well for Brian. His sister is trying to kill his dreams. It's possible things go exactly the way Brian wants, even if it doesn't last. I like the way you've built in a little suspense to keep the reader coming back. Regardless to what happens now, the bigger story is yet to come.

It's actually going to become pretty important what happens now, because it will govern the direction of his life for a number of years. But who can ever tell when they happen what sort of long-term effects small events might end up having?

Good chapter, Jim. I am totally befuddled at this friendship. Here I thought she would be snobbish toward Brian, being younger and all. The way you wrote it, she seems to genuine be alright with him, maybe no to date but as a friend...
I'll just have to wait to see where this all shakes out.
Hurry with the next chapter, curious minds need to know.
Excellent.

Thanks, John. So far, so good with Sandi. Maybe he will have a chance with her after all. They seem to be having fun together. Who knows? My mother was a year older than my father.

This is going very well for Brian - a pretty girl who's paying him for teaching her a subject that he enjoys. Yet, obviously, in the back of my mind, I'm expecting the crash back to reality. This is clever because we're never going to be sure of when that's going to happen and, meanwhile, we're warming to Brian more and more! Well done, Jim, I'm enjoying this. Take care Debbie

Thanks, Debbie. What could possibly go wrong now? They seem to really be hitting it off, but you never know if and when the shoe may drop. I'll keep you in suspense for a while.

Things are looking up for Brian. I have to agree with Fran. Sandi may say no for a while, but I'm guessing a yes is in his future. I am enjoying reading this story. You're doing a great job writing it.
