I have never wrung a chickens neck have you? We grew food not animals. I can make jelly, preserves and jam. I can make pickles of all types chutneys and relish. I can bottle and can. I can fry up anything that doesn't move to quick. Well, I've never been happy with my fried chicken. I am a southern gal. I miss having a garden. Bedtime for me, Good poem. Karen

No, I've never wrung a chicken's neck. I'm a sucker for animals, lol. I enjoy fresh canned vegetables and such. Thank you for the excellent review, my Texas friend.
God bless, and good night.

Ciao!
If I kept a chicken pen with a rooster I would not be able to eat them. Each one would have a name and they would all die of natural causes.
That said,
during a corrida if the bull fights well he is spared and can live his life out in the paddock making love. ( biggrin)

You got me. The thought, reminded me of an actual: my great aunt being attacked by our rooster. You were right: chicken and dumplings. I trained that rooster, to defend against a fox. Beautifully conveyed, in my given viewpoint.

This is a funny poem. I like the part : causing dinner plans to change . The picture goes nicely with the poem. Good luck in the contest. Great job.

ROOSTER pie, then? Oh dear... poor rooster. This one fits the format and is amusing (especially if you've been on the receiving end of rooster attacks). I'm interested in the photo, which has some kind of filter or treatment...

Yes, it's a filter, but my friend applied it. Not sure how. Thank you for this excellent review.

Funny! I have heard so many stories from people that own chickens... the chicken misbehaves and becomes dinner. We have chickens but my husband is so attached to his girls that they would NEVER be considered for a meal! So cute!! Good job!

By the way, I LOVE the picture you used!!!

Evidently, the rooster was more than granny could handle. This statement provides a great visual. I'm sure those at the dinner table still enjoyed granny's offering of chicken and dumplings. I enjoyed the humor. Best wishes in the contest.

Hahaha... awesome entry for the Humorous 5-7-5 writing prompt contest. Poor chicken, it should not have messed around with granny. LoL
Good syllables count and connection between lines. I like the presentation.
Good luck in the contest!

This one made me laugh--nice great entry for the Humorous 5-7-5 competition. The artwork is a perfect enhancement. Your words paint a picture of granny's injury and the consequences. Great job!
