Another fine poem, Gypsy....how well I remember my inner child, when dreams were wholesome and pure. Until teenage fantasies turned to include the lady down the street, an oily substance of some sort, and....better leave it there!

Oh! How I wish I was still teaching. I would so love to share with poem with my first graders and tell them to illustrate it. I know they would have fun and the illustrations would be wonderful. This contest entry is perfect for children. Thank you for sharing and good luck with the contest.

I love that book - I have read it in French and English and Korean. There was vocabulary I didn't know but I always enjoyed reading that book. It's so sweet and your poem captures the tenderness and freedom of imagination of the book!

Ideal for a child. I like the words and colors which I think would make the little ones look at it. Very important, I like the length, some poems are much too long for children who tend to have,a shorter attention span.

I think the thought of flying freely over the mountains and valleys and rivers isn't limited to children. I used to turn on YouTube videos and watch the aeroviews of the land. I could feel myself floating. Very surreal and I'm sure children would get lost in their imagination while reading this. Gretchen

I still remember the feeling of flying in my dreams when I was little, it felt so real! Even the butterflies in my stomach. I think all children have that power, we lose it when we grow up.
