I like your eye-catching image and the way you reflect the scene in your 5-7-5 verse. It's an imaginative take on the way these prompts can infiltrate the brain and become more than a bit obsessional. Small edit with the extra 'thing' in your notes. Nicely done! Good luck! Debbie

This poem pretty much sums up the way my muse feels everytime a 5-7-5 writing prompt shows up! I love writing them but sometimes getting an idea is just overwhelming. Good luck in the contest.

I know exactly what you mean! I used to write lots of haikus, senkus and tankas. That was five to six years ago. Now I write in iambic tetrameter all the time and even think that way in my mind. It helps when I write.
Your 5-7-5 is definitely humorous. It is a senku in case you were wondering.
In Haiku, senku and tanka there is no rhyming allowed and very little punctuation.
I enjoyed your poem very much.
