Sounds like heaven, but then life's distractions intervene. Wife, kids, the boss, the car needs servicing and the police car following you when you're exceeding the speed limit. Life is so unfair. And lastly, you've just been fired. Some days you just shouldn't get out of bed.
But, as my father once said, tomorrow is another day. He always was a dreamer.

Ah yes, dreamers. I have learned to appreciate them far more
the older I have become.
Thank you,
Doug

Serenity is pervasive throughout! I can totally skip my Yoga session today, for you have centered my spirit and aligned my soul with nature!

What a comforting review.
Yes, I wrote this because it actually happened to me.
Sitting at my kitchen table, for some reason, I did not turn on
everything automatically, like usual. And what a magical next hour or so for me. I am so pleased the magic managed to infect you as well.

Comforting! Yes, that is what your poem is!

A very lovely tribute to nature. I, too, love nature. I desperately want to go for a walk in the woods, but sadly I can't find any to walk in. I grew up playing in the woods. My dad cleared a path and I would ride my four wheeler all through the woods and find spots to just sit. I miss that terribly.

Early summer is a great time of year that we wait for and dream about and hopefully enjoy when it finally arrives. Glad to hear you are in that early summer mode.

Thank you, Janet.
Yes, I wonder why I do not do this more often.
I certainly will remain more cognizant of the fact that,
it is right here in front of me. Just awaiting my return.

Hi Doug,
The words and the artwork make me think of a walk in the park or sitting on a park bench enjoying the weather. I don't know why your mind would go to a trampoline. Though moving it to another's backyard may bring some peace from hearing kids playing on it. I wish we could live easier without technology.
Keep writing and stay healthy.
Have a nice day.

Because I'm sitting looking at my backyard. It is so thoroughly
peaceful, isolated, and beautiful. And just off to the left sits my
daughter's trampoline, in the neighbor's yard. I prolly should have just taken a photo of my backyard, rather than look up an image online, eh?
Thanks,
Doug

A picture of your backyard would have been perfect.
You're welcome, Doug.

Nice complementary picture art.
I, too, love that inter-seasonal period between late spring and early summer. It doesn't quite rain as much and the heat isn't intense--yet.
Good sensory image employed in your poem, as I could envision and feel all you described. Nicely crafted.

Thank you so much.
Yes, it was a beautiful hour or so.
Just peace and no problems. I asked
myself, why do you not do this more?
You moron (myself)

A very well written poem about nature. The so -called bad weather has gone and she gives us the welcomed
lazy days of summer.
An easy read with a good flow and pace.
Thank you for sharing.

Ciao!
I live in the country side and my pine forest is my refuge from the chaos, the noise, the devices etc.
I'm looking forward to Summer too. Sick of the rain.

Lovely poem of the early summer. It's in full bloom where I am and quite beautiful. I'm glad you're unplugged and enjoying her charms. Sending you my best today as always and the best of summer.
